Erin's POV

Why was he here?

Why now?

"Do you know each other?" Taylor looked at us with raised eyebrows.

Leon and I's eyes met for a moment and I tried to calm my self down to prevent any unwanted attention.

"We err use to go to school together." I cleared my throat and tried to keep my voice from quivering. I kept my eyes locked on his, his icy blue eyes were emotionless and they narrowed for a moment at the mention of us being from the same school.

What did he want me to say? Did he want me to say that we used to go out? Did he want me to deny knowing each other?

"We go way back don't we, Reeny?" Leon flashed a smile that I once would melt every time I see it but now all I could do is shiver and think about the party. My insides swirled with mixed emotions but I tried to ignore it.

There was no point dwelling in the past.

But I couldn't help it. I tried not to think about it but the pounding music echoed in my mind and the smell of alcohol burnt my nose.

"Way back." I shallowed my emotions and I tried to even out my ragged breathing. I felt Tom's warm and soft hand gripped my clammy hand under the table. A wave of reassurance and calmness went through me and I smiled softly at Tom.

"That's a freaky coincidence! Come and sit down Leon" Taylor waved him over and pointed at the chair right in front of me.

"Oh how rude of me! Leon, this is Erin's boyfriend Tom and Daley this is Leon." Taylor pointed at Tom to introduce them with each other. Their eyes met for a moment in a dark glare before Tom smiled and Leon smirked with a darker undertone.

"The diver, right?" Leon inquired as he tuck in to the food in front of him.

"Yeah" Tom's grip on my hand tightened and the tension over the table thicken as they continued to glare at each other.

"Shame that you didn't get the gold." Leon had the look in his eyes that suggest he was going to enjoy winding Tom up.

"The pressure got the best of me." Tom replied calmly

"Especially with that dodgy start."

"Indeed." Tom nodded his head before he grabbed his cutlery and began to eat. Taylor laughed awkwardly and tried to make small talk with everybody.

"So Leon, how did you end up in Plymouth?" Taylor smiled charmingly.

"I was training for the army but I had an accident with one of the equipments and I pretty much nearly shattered my leg last year. I decided to go to University and Plymouth was the one who accepted me." Leon matched her smile.

"Are you going back to the Army after Uni?" Taylor asked between mouthfuls of food.

"I'm not sure yet. I might do, I'll have to see." Leon shamelessly let his eyes lingered on Taylor a lot longer than was need. Taylor bit her lips and returned the gesture.

"I'll get some more drinks for everyone." I said as I excused myself from the table.

"I'll help you." Tom followed behind me as he collected everyone's empty glasses.

"You okay?" he whispered in my ears as he gently placed a hand on the small of my back.

"Y-Yeah." Much to my dismay, my voice faltered as I began to pour the drinks out.

"I won't let him lay another finger on you, love." He whispered, his warm breath tickling me.

"I know that, Thomas. But it's Taylor who I'm worried about. Look at them, there all over each other" I nodded my head towards Taylor and Leon who were slyly flirting with each other.
