Chapter 15- Something Not Meant

So the day after that they never talked. Everything went back to the way it was. Basically...it seemed like the party didn't even happen.

Xena was away today which meant that Brian sat at lunch once again all by himself. Well not entirely. He sat with Jay and Celeste but he didn't speak. He didn't mention a word. About what happened last night, he felt utterly rejected. Maybe she had to just...go. No it was clear, she doesn't like me, just give up Brian, thought Brian as Celeste and Jay boredly sat and stared at him looking off into the distance ignoring DJ and Mark opposite them.

'Ok, I;ve had enough, What's wrong?' said Celeste sharply as her and Jay stared at him waiting for an answer.

'What do you mean what's wrong?' asked Brian pretending he had no idea what they were talking about as he filled his mouth with egg salad. 

'Exactly what I said' said Celeste seeming more serious. 

'Come on Brian you can tell us' said Jay calming the situation down a little and giving a bit of a 'No need to pressure him' face to Celeste. Brian pushed his container recently filled with egg salad away so he could talk to Celeste and Jay. 

'I uh...went to a party last night and DJ was there...' Brian paused as Celeste and Jay looked at each other and then back to him.

'DId she do something mean to you?' asked Jay sharply as she moved her head forward as Celeste did too. As they seemed so interested Brian didn't feel comfortable about talking about it.

'It's okay, i just...don't want to talk about it' said Brian as he looked away from the girls staring off at DJ and Mark making out (as usual). By Brian's shock Celeste grabbed his shirt and pulled him towards her. 

'Tell us, before I...' Celeste paused as she looked down and saw Brian's abs done the neck hole of the shirt. 

'You're lucky you're so hot...but you have to tell us, she's become a bitch ever since she came here' said Celeste as Jay rolled her eyes. 

'Okay i'll tell you! Jeez' said Brian as Celeste and Jay sat gazing at him eager to listen. Brian couldn't  bare talking about this. What was it going to do? Thinking about it, Brian was going to be stuck with Xena. How was he going to face DJ again? 'We had a moment but...she walked away' said Brian. Celeste and Jay looked at each other wondering what to think about this. 

‘What do you mean she walked away’ asked Celeste confused.

‘Exactly that’ replied Brian looking at the girls as they reacted in disgust.

‘She’s such a bitch’ said Jay, for most of her life she hardly mentioned the word bitch, she’d usually mention it if she felt some form of jealousy, but she wasn’t jealous…was she?

‘Mmm, I know!’ said Celeste while unmannerly she munched on her beetroot salad while talking. ‘You know what! This morning I approached her and told her that she’s been ignoring us and all she said was “Sorry, I’ve been busy with Mark”, she’s become a total bitch, and she flicked her hair in my face in the last cheer practise we had, I don’t understand how you could keep up with her in Australia’ complained Celeste as Mark put his hand up signalling her to stop.

‘She’s not always like this…’ said Mark as he put his hand down, ‘she was the most beautiful and wonderful girl I had ever met, even when there were cute girls walking around in short pants on free dress day, her jeans would always catch my eye, and the shirt’s she wears too, she’s not us showy as the other girls, she’s different…and that’s what I love about her…she’s just changed, just give her time’ said Brian as Celeste and Jay smiled, ‘What?’ asked Brian confused.
