Nearly Over- Chapter 25

Jessie's POV:

A month had passed since I started my chemo and I had my last session yesterday and I'm set to go back tomorrow to have another check to see whether the cancer has gone or not and from then on if I'm in the all clear I'll just have to go once a year to have checkups to make sure it hasn't come back.

I managed to keep up with my school work even though I missed a couple days throughout the month I worked hard to stay on top of it. Troy's been by my side every step of the way and after going through this I know he will always be there when I need him. We've been dating for coming up sixth months tomorrow.

It was now Friday and I was glad I had the day off school to just relax and do some more of my work that I had been given.

I was looking forward to tonight as I was being allowed to go back to ice skating for the first time since I got my cancer. I'm still not allowed to do full on training but I've missed it so much and can't wait to get back out on the ice. I'm also going for a light swim tomorrow and to start planning with my coach for after I hopefully get my all clear from my doctor.

Troy told me he has something special planned for me tomorrow but he's not telling me what, he says it's a surprise.

I felt tired so I didn't bother changing out of my pyjamas even after I had eaten lunch I just went back to bed and fell asleep immediately.

The next thing I knew was someone was shaking me awake. I looked up blearily to see Troy looking at me with a worried face.

"You alright Kitten?" He asked worriedly.

"Mmmm yeah just tired." I mumbled sleepily.

"Okay go back to sleep I'll stay with you." He told me.

I don't remember much of what happened next as before I knew it I was back asleep with my head lying in Troy's lap.

Troy's POV:

After Jess went back to sleep I just flicked through TV channels. For some reason she was completely wiped out. I don't know how long she had been asleep before I woke her up but she was completely out of it. After an hour I heard her mum come home.

"Hey Sweetheart, you okay?" Julie asked as she walking into the room discovering that Jess was asleep on my lap. "Oh sorry Troy, how's she been?"

"She's just been sleeping since I've been here and when I arrived she was asleep." I responded.

"She must be wiped out." She said. "I'm going to start on tea so it's done by the time her Dad's home."

"Okay that's fine, give us a shout when it's ready and I'll wake her up." I said quietly so I didn't wake Jess.

Soon enough Julie shouted tea was ready so I started waking Jess up.

"Come on Kitten you need to get up." I cooed to her.

"Don't want to." She grumbled.

After another few minutes of failing to wake her up I scooped her into my arms and began carrying her downstairs.

She hid her head in my neck and almost within seconds she was asleep again.

I got down to the kitchen and said to her parents, "I woke her up again but she's fallen back asleep."

"She must be wiped out." Her Mum said walking towards us. "Come on Sweetheart."

I sat her down on a chair and got a bit of water to splash on her face. This finally succeeded in waking her up so she could actually stay awake.
