Troy’s POV:
I slid out of Jess’s bed without waking her up and wrote a quick note and placed it on the pillow next to her. I quickly got dressed and placed a soft kiss to her forehead before heading out of her room and downstairs.
“Morning.” I greeted Jake and Charlie as I walked into the kitchen.
“Morning, Jess still sleeping?” Charlie wondered.
“Yeah I got up without her knowing so I can plan out the day so everything goes to plan.” I explained.
“So what are you going today?” She inquired.
“First we’re going to her Doctor’s appointment with her parents to get the hopeful all clear, then over to the pool to talk to her coach if she gets the all clear so she can start building up her training again and then finally my surprise this afternoon and evening.” I told them.
“Well let us know how it goes and I hope your surprise goes to plan.” Jake said.
“Thanks.” I said as I went out of the house.
Jessie’s POV:
I stretched out reaching for Troy only to feel the coldness of the mattress beside me. I rolled over only to find a note underneath my head; I reached up and pulled it out.
I held it in front of my eyes waiting for my eyes to adjust to read the note- ‘Kitten I’m sorry I’m not there when you woke up but I’m just sorting out the finishing touches on your surprise for later. I’ll be back in time for your Doctor’s appointment xxx’
I smiled at the idea of his surprise for me and I couldn’t wait to find out what he has planned for later on. I got out of bed and used my toiletries I keep in Troy’s bathroom then got dressed in leggings, a floral tank top with a cardigan.
I headed downstairs to find Charlie and Jake in the kitchen. “Hey.” I smiled at the two.
“Morning Babe.” Charlie replied.
I ate breakfast quickly and was about to ring Troy to find out where he was for my Doctor’s appointment when I felt two arms wrap around my waist.
“There you are.” I giggled as he tickled my sides. “I thought you were going to be late.”
“I would never be late for something like this.” He said sincerely.
“Let’s get going my parents said they would meet us there.” I told him and began to lead him out of the house.
Once we arrived at the hospital we found my parents were already there waiting for us and soon my Doctor called me to go into their office.
I gripped Troy’s hand in mine as I nervously walked towards the office hoping from the best. Troy and my mum and dad followed right behind me.
“Right so you’ll be happy to hear that I have some great news, Jessie I’m glad to say that you are free of any cancer however you will need to come back once every three months just to ensure the cancer doesn’t return.” He said with a smile on his face.
I was so happy that tears started falling down my face and I finally let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding in.
Troy wrapped me in a bear hug sqeezing me tight, “See I told you everything would be fine Kitten.”
I pulled away and wiped my tears and looked towards my parents with both pairs of eyes glazed over with a fresh set of tears.
I left Troy’s arms and went over to my parents and pulle them both into a big hug, “Thank you so much, I could have never done it without you.”
