Chapter 4 - Friends and Enemies

At that point though, Daniel was scarred... He couldn't help but watch what was happening... He regrets it immensely...

The police came to investigate the two, but Sophie just let out a low growl whenever they came near Daniel. "At least answer some of our question before anything else happens." She reluctantly followed them to a table and answered their questions but immediately went back to Daniel's side.

After investigation, they were free to leave and the other family was taken to the police station after a witness told them what they saw, for harassment. Sophie and Daniel left for the abandoned house they now called home... problem was... Daniel started coughing and eventually coughing up a black substance...

The Ink Illness...No! its fine...He's fine... he's not going to die...

After a few days past, she learned that the lady's kid had the ink illness. She found out after reading in the newspaper that the child had died due to being to weak to fight the ink illness. She prayed to whatever god is up there that he wouldn't be sick from the disease.

School started up again, but the students heard what happened and fear Sophie but had much sympathy for Daniel. He would get very nervous and anxious whenever two of his friend started fighting because he didn't want anyone else hurt. After the morning bell rang they head to study hall. After Sophie plugged in her headphones and played music, she checked her email. She read thousands of emails from scared students, telling her to go kill her self or to leave town like the abomination she was. It didn't really phase her but it had a slight impact. Later after study hall, they both left to their separate classes. Sophie to choir and Daniel to science. They both gave each other a hug before they left for their classes.

 While Sophie was walking to class, she got numerous stares and glances by other students walking to their classes. Anxiety started to build up but slowly went away once she got into the choir room. The bell rang, but still no teacher. 'She must be late again' thought Sophie as she started typing her new book, Automaton Love. As more and more students flooded the room, more and more chatter filled the air. She got interrupted by her thought when someone closed one of the heavy doors that lead to the practice rooms so students can practice solos and lyric pieces.

It was the sub. teacher. Sophie didn't think much of it, until she screamed for everyone to get up and start with practice scales. As some students got back in their assigned spots, a girl and a boy went on either side of the short angel wolf. They whispered the whole class to each other as if she weren't there.

Next Period, Science. Same thing happened when she made her way up the hall to her class. Same thing happened but the teacher was more nasty toward her. Same stuff happened throughout 2nd to 6th period. She was scared to head to lunch and considering camping out in the bathrooms, but quickly realized someone would tell a teacher and she would get detention for skip a supposed class. 

She reluctantly headed towards the cafeteria and set her books down by one of the table where you can set them down. She took her drawing notebook with her because she knew talking to others wasn't an option, especially when practically the whole school knows she's 'aggressive an dangerous'. As she set her book down at an empty table, she saw a few other girls walk over to the table she ignored it until she saw her enemy... Rori.

The first day she came to the new school, she was the first one to talk to her but it soon turned to giving her food and candy without anything in return. What Sophie thought she was getting, turned out to be a lie. Eventually Sophie stood up for herself after realizing what Rori was doing to her. Sophie now has trust issues because of that. Now that she's at her lunch table... right next to her... it bothers her, but as long as she doesn't talk to her.

Someone else that made an impact on her life, Mugman. After he heard of what happened he was the first one to console her and even talk to her between classes. They always talked whenever they got a class together. That didn't last long however because after the schedules switched, she never saw him again... until today.
