Flirting Or Not?

After PE class my head was very confused. I couldn't help but think Natsu was flirting with me. I know it sounds cocky but just the small things, the flirty jokes and the looks in class. When Gray wanted to have me on his team Natsu quickly stole me away. It seemed childish but what if he was flirting. 

On the way home my mind continued to analysis everything he said. Who was I kidding anyways it wasn't like I flirted back, did I? Then I decided to analysis everything I said hoping I wasn't flirting. Natsu was cute and all but we just met and I wasn't really interested in a relationship or a fling or whatever he wanted. If he did want something that is.

"Luce is that you" I heard a familiar voice call before some footsteps approached. Turning around I was faced with the pinkette who filled my mind. I felt heat rush to my cheeks remembering my thoughts but I quickly brushed them off.

"Natsu hey" I greeted him with a smile. 

"Are you walking home?" He questioned. 

"Yeah you going the same direction" I answered with a question.

He simply nodded before we began walking together. He didn't waste a second to begin talking.

"So how was your first day" He started the conversation.

"It was good, all you guys made it so much better" I huffed out.

"Well of course I did" He smirked causing me to blush a little. It wasn't my fault he had such an attractive smirk.

"Thats an overstatement" I smirked back.

"So rude Luce" He smiled. It continued on for a while, the both of us flirting. Was it flirting, God I wasn't sure.

"Well this is my house" Natsu stopped in front a double story house. It was beautiful and the flowers in the front yard gave it so much character. My eyes averted over to the red roses. They reminded me of my mother and caused me smile.

"I love those flowers" I blurted out examining the roses. 

"Thats random" Natsu laughed.

"Sorry they are just really pretty" I looked up at the boy. 

"Well if you want one so bad" I watched him pick one out of the bush and hold it out in front of me.

"For the beautiful lady" He tried to put on an English accent again. I laughed at his pathetic fail before taking the rose.

"Why thankyou young gentlemen" I totally owned his British accent with my perfect one. 

He flashed me a smile which I gladly returned. I felt like we had stood there smiling at each other for a while before his vanished in the blink of an eye.

"Well I should go, see you Lucy" he waved as he hurried off inside his house. 

What was that? I didn't know what to think. We spent the day talking and laughing and possibly flirting only for him to rush off. I wasn't going to let it get to me however, brushing off the award leave I headed on home as well with the rose he gave me clenched in my fist.

The next day at school Levy and I had a class together, advanced english. It was probably my favorite class considering I liked to write and based of Levy's obsession for books I guessed she was the same. 

"So any cute guys your interested in" Levy teased me.

"No not really" I lied trying to force the pinkette out of my mind.

"Don't lie to me Lucy" She gave me a playful nudge. There wasn't a point in denying my interest in front of Levy. I trusted her to not tell anyone.

"Well Natsu seems nice I guess" I blushed as I mentioned his name.

"I knew it" She giggled.

"Gray even said he reckons you two were flirting yesterday" Levy spoke confirming my suspicions. If Gray saw it then it must be true. I sighed with relief.

"It doesn't matter though, when we walked home from school he seemed all flirty until he suddenly rushed off" I explained annoyed.

"You wouldn't be the first girl his done that too" Levy rolled her eyes.

"What is he a playboy" I raised my eyebrows hoping he wasn't.

"No of course not" She shook her head. Relief flushed through my body but then what was he.

"His had his heartbroken before" She sighed. That definitely explained a little. Thats why he rushed off, he realized we were flirting and he didn't want too. 

"Great" I sighed sadly.
