Changing a Heart

I'll kill him

"I'll kill him, when I find him he's a dead man" 

Those were the words Natsu and I heard walking into the school gates. An angry Gajeel was pacing around frustrated while Gray tried to calm him down. Juvia looked ready to sob, along with Yukino. Erza and Lisanna were intently talking. This was a state I had never seen the group in, something was wrong. 

"Lucy thank fuck your here, you need to drive Gajeel down to the police station now" Erza demanded.

"Ok tell me what is going on first" 

"It's Levy" 

It was then that I noticed the missing girl, my best friend. She was always early to school. It hit me then that something bad must of happened.

"She's at the police station" Lisanna continued. My mind raced with assumptions, maybe she stole a new book or something. That was impossible, she was too good to even dare steal. Her committing a crime just seemed so out of character. 

"Why" Natsu curiously asked. 

"Because some sicko drugged her and took advantage of her" Erza spat out, just the thought disgusted her. It was then that I wanted to match Juvia and sob. I couldn't bear to think about my best friend being harmed. It sickened me, I felt myself needing to vomit. And that's what I did. All on the ground next to me I let out that mornings breakfast. Natsu pulled my hair back as I continued to spew on the floor. I couldn't hold it in, just thinking about Levy and what happened made me want to vomit. 

"Ok Natsu you drive Lucy and Gajeel down there, Levy's parents aren't in town so she needs her boyfriend and her best friend right now" Erza ordered. I was still hunched making sure I had nothing left in me.

"What about you guys?" Natsu asked. 

"Gray and I are going to go to where it happened to find Levys things and car" Erza explained. 

"Her things are gone?"

"Her wallet, car keys, phone God I hope that monster didn't take them" 

Finally I stood myself up knowing that I had to go to Levy. She needed to be hugged and loved, she needed someone to tell her that she was ok now. I knew I would be staying the night at hers, most likely everyone would be. 

"Juvia, Yukino and Lisanna are going to talk to the principle and tell him what happened, then they are going to get all Levys things from her locker and come to Levys" 

"Ok, Luce you alright?" Natsu asked and I gave him a nod. Lisanna handed me a tissue and I wiped my mouth down properly. 

"Let's go Gajeel" Natsu ordered the boy and they both began walking to the car. I followed behind watching Gajeel. Just from the way he walked I could tell that whoever did this was going to pay. I felt just as mad and as forgiving of a person I am I couldn't let this slide. This was my best friend, we used to watch law and order episodes about this stuff and now it was real. I felt the tears forming but I held them back, I had to be strong for Levy no matter what.

The drive to the station felt slow, there was no music, Natsu was driving as fast as he could, I was nervously biting my nails and Gajeel was furiously staring out the window. As soon as we arrived we all bolted out the car. Gajeel and I ran to the doors, Natsu not to far behind. Before we reached them however Gajeel stopped me.

"Lucy, incase she doesn't want to see me or touch me, please let her know I love her and I'll kill the man" for the first time Gajeel started crying. There was a chance that Levy wouldn't want to see him, not because he's him but because his a strong tall man, it could trigger her. I knew that would hurt Gajeel but right then was about Levy and he understood that. He would do whatever Levy needed. 

"Of course Gajeel, anything to make Levy feel safe again" I reassured him before we both walked in. Gajeel spoke with an officer who pointed us down a hall. Running down the hall I felt my life go in slow motion. 

A sick man decided to abuse his strength and target the most pure and genuine girl on earth. And for what some money. The anger was rising in me and I understood exactly why Gajeel wanted this man dead, because in that exact moment I felt the same thing. Before I could reach the room Levy was in Natsu grabbed me. 

"Natsu what the fuck" I turned to face him. When I looked at him, the man who had been able to remain calm for the sake of Gajeel and I this whole time, all I saw was guilt. He began crying and sobbing uncontrollably. He nuzzled his head in my neck and I could feel his warm tears staining my shirt. I rubbed my fingers through his hair trying to comfort him while my head tried to understand the look I had seen on his face. 

Finally he lifted his head to look at me, his puffy red eyes filled with shame. 

"Natsu what's wrong?"

"Zeref, he did it, he must of"
