New Experiences

My eyes fluttered open to the sound of violent knocking. Like really violent knocking. I genuinely thought a stampede of zoo animals were about to knock the door down and trample us. I shook Natsu trying to wake him but he wouldn't budge. Who on earth was knocking at our door? After we finished the movie last night we all went back to our respective hotel rooms for some rest. As soon as I hit the comfort of my pillow I was off in dream land. 

But I was awaken by someone knocking during what I assumed to be early hours of the morning.

"Lucy! Natsu!"Erza's stern voice was easy to recognise, I should of known it was her, who else would be knocking on a door that hard. 

So rolling out of my warm bed I opened the hotel door revealing the red head and two of our friends. Jellal and Gajeel stood behind the girl as she smiled excitingly. 

"Lucy would you like to accompany us for an early swim at the beach" So formal..... but that's Erza for you. 

I thought about it for a moment. As much as I wanted to go back and cuddle with Natsu I remembered that we were on a holiday and I wanted to experience new things. Besides it couldn't be that cold could it.

I was dead fucking wrong. As soon as my feet hit the cold water of the beach I regretted my decision of leaving the bed. 

"Lucy I did not expect you to join us" Gajeel placed a hand on my head giving my hair a scruff. He had a point, I was not one to get up this early especially not for exercise. 

Erza and Jellal both were the active type, seriously they had all this energy and poise at the same time. I think everyone wanted to be as fit and elegant as them. Gajeel was also quite fit, he spent tons of time at the gym or going on jogs so it was normal for him to join.

Not for me however, I was as lazy as a cat. If I didn't get a full 12 hours of sleep then I would not be able to function properly. Well maybe thats an exaggeration, afterall I did tend to stay up with Natsu to early hours of the morn some nights. But most of the time I needed sleep, extreme amounts of sleep.

"I do not know what I was thinking" I shook my head shivering. I was thankful that Erza bought an extra long sleeved rash guard. If it wasn't for that I would be an ice cube. 

"You're being spontaneous I like it blondie" He smiled. 

"Gajeel I bet you can't run a lap of the beach and keep up with me" Erza challenged the boy an evil glint in her eye. The glint that meant trouble was coming. Erza was mad competitive but then again so was most of our group. So without a second thought Gajeel had left my side and joined the red head.

"Bring it on" I heard him accept her challenge before they both began jogging down the beach. Where they get the energy I would never know.

"Lucy lets go body surfing" I looked up to see Jellal already in the ocean calling me in. He didn't seem cold at all, what was this madness. Was I the only one who felt the cold.

Nevertheless I went against my body's wants and forced myself in the water. Step by step I could feel the freezing water creeping up my body. 

"Its a new experience Lucy, It's a new experience Lucy" I kept whispering to myself. At least I could say that I had done it afterwards. 

Eventually my whole body was devoured by the ocean and my head was sticking out next to Jellal. I thought that once you were in the water it would be a bit warmer but boy was I wrong. 

"So have you ever body surfed"

"Nope"

"It's super fun"
