Black Eye

"Well who's the rapist Lucy" Gajeel took a step closer to us with a threatening look on his face. Gajeel was an intimidating man but I had never been scared of him like I was in that moment. He dropped his shopping bags on the floor after receiving no reply.

"Gajeel lets just calm down for a moment" I tried to relax him so this conversation would not end in violence. I knew Gajeel would hurt Natsu and as much as Natsu and I were on the rocks I still loved him. Gray and Erza dropped their bags as well looking at Natsu and I for an explanation. 

"Calm down? Are you fucking serious Lucy" I was definitely right about Gajeel getting violent because he proceeded to grab me by the collar and lift me in the air. Luckily for me Natsu quickly shoved him causing me to drop down to the floor. Erza and Gray were straight by my side making sure I was ok. I didn't even feel the pain because I was too distracted watching Gajeel and Natsu in a shoving match.

"Well who is it Dragneel, who raped my girlfriend?" Gajeel growled. He was unrecognisable, he genuinely looked like he could kill someone.

"Don't you ever touch Lucy again" Natsu ignored everything Gajeel said still mad about the interaction he saw take place. Gray and Erza attempted to help me up but I bounced up in an instant running to the boys. 

"Enough you two" I yelled trying to break them apart. My attempts proved useless, my spaghetti arms just wobbled against their annoyingly perfect chests. 

"Well Lucy who's a rapist, tell me and maybe I'll fucking stop" Gajeel turned his attention to me again and I felt all the fear rushing back in. This guy should play a serial killer because I felt like he would pull out a knife and stab me in that moment. 

I wasn't sure if I should have said anything, I knew who did that to Levy and just like Natsu I was staying quiet. I chose to say nothing for what? For my cowardly boyfriend? I knew I was in the wrong and in that moment I didn't really care what it did to Natsu or what it meant for him because this was my best friend on the line. She deserved justice and Zeref deserved to be behind bars.

"Natsu's brother" I shouted at the long haired boy. At first he stumbled back processing the information. His mouth opened in shock. A few seconds after that his fist was in Natsu's face. 

"You son of a bitch" He continued to pound Natsu's face into the ground. At first all I could do was stare in shock. Erza and Gray tried to pull him away but he would not budge. He needed someone to get his anger out on and Natsu needed to feel like he was getting what he deserved. It took me a while to fully process what was happening, Natsu didn't fight back and I didn't even know if it was because he didn't want to or because he couldn't.

 I refused to stand by however, sure I was mad at the boy but when I started to see blood flying everywhere I knew this was serious. I tried pushing Gajeel off. Of course that proved useless so Instead I pulled Natsu's body as hard as I could. Luckily for me it worked and I managed to move him away from Gajeel. However this just triggered Gajeel more as he came crawling to hit the boy again. 

Then I did probably the stupidest thing ever and dived to protect him. Natsu was unconscious by this point, I couldn't even make out his face under all the blood. 

Unlucky for me I ended up with my own black eye. Gajeel accidentally hit me while I covered Natsu. It stung like a bitch, I could feel my head getting dizzy but I managed to not faint. I could already feel the bruise forming on my eye. I could also feel the blood on Natsu's face drench my clothes. The adrenaline helped me ignore my injury. 

I quickly moved myself so I was sitting on my legs and placed the pinkette's head in my lap. I noticed then the seriousness of Natsu's injuries. He needed help, medical help. 

"Call an ambulance please" I begged looking to Gray who quickly whipped out his phone. Gajeel had stumbled back finally coming to the reality that he not only hit me but nearly killed Natsu. He paced back and forward and Erza tried to calm him. 

And as if things weren't bad enough Levy and the others rushed down to find out what was going on. Levy put it together instantly seeing her boyfriends bloody fists and my black eye along with Natsu's red face. Her hands came to her mouth and she tried to hold back her gasps. 

"Levy its not what you think" Gajeel rushed to the girl but she took a few steps back upstairs horror plastered over her face. I knew the look on her face, it was disgust, it was how I felt about Natsu when I found out about Zeref.

Gajeel looked down disappointed when she did this. He knew he fucked up, being violent to someone after what Levy just experienced was triggering for her and he knew that. The anger inside him was so strong however, the resentment he felt when I said those words. He had to justify himself and his actions.

"It was Zeref babe, Zeref did this to you" He looked at her pleading in his eyes. She glanced at Natsu and cringed at his state. She then looked at me and I didn't know what to do.

"Natsu said it was Zeref" I spoke. I had to be truthful, this was my best friend and she deserved to know what happened to her and who took advantage of her. Levy looked down shaking her head and I could tell she was crying. Her shaking body took a step down from the stairs and she looked up tears staining her face.

"No he didn't, it wasn't Zeref"
