Changing a Heart

Heart Ache

Walking through the doors to history I saw two empty seats, one next to Gajeel and one next to Natsu. Ultimately deciding that sitting with Natsu and talking with him would be better I headed toward him. It didn't matter however as in the blink of an eye Lisanna was there sitting right next  to him. I took a breath containing my eye role and slumped myself next to Gajeel. 

"You know Natsu's not into her" He spoke as if reading my mind.

"pffft wouldn't care if he was" I tried to get Gajeel off my trail.

"Please our whole group knows how you feel" I flash him a glare warning him to stop the conversation there.

"Look all I'm saying is don't beat yourself up over that" Me motioned towards Natsu and Lisanna who were both covered with big smiles on their faces. I know I should've listened to what Gajeel said but that was Natsu's first love sitting next to him probably flirting with him. Of course I was going to be jealous. All I could do was wait anxiously for that bell to ring. 

I waited in the class room after everyone hoping to steal a quick moment with Natsu. I didn't want to talk about this morning because I wasn't going to be selfish. He just got his childhood love back it wouldn't be fair to take that away from him just because I had feelings for him.

"Natsu" I called before he could leave the room. Without a blink he made his way to me.

"I just wanted to give you this" I quickly chucked him the beanie that was sitting on my head. He caught it and shoved it on his own.

"I mean it does look better on me" He flashed me a goofy smile and I couldn't help but give him a giggle.

"Well my aunties bringing me my uniform as we speak so I'll return your clothes as soon as I'm changed" 

"But didn't you say your aunty would be mad at you not coming home last night" 

"Well better face the wrath sooner rather then later" I huffed out before making my way to leave the room. I heard him calling me to wait but I had already disappeared down the halls. I wasn't going to make today about me, it needed to be about him and all the others who finally got to see Lisanna again. 

Heading to the office I bumped into the white haired beauty. 

"Lucy your just the girl I've been wanting to speak too" She pulled me aside into the bathroom. She quickly closed the doors and checked the stalls to make sure no one was around. I began to sweat and a feeling of anxiousness took over my body.

"Its about Natsu" She began and I already knew where the conversation was leading. I expected this conversation sooner or later but I knew that at that moment my heart would explode if she spoke another word.

"Um maybe later, I have to get to the office" I pushed the door open with my shaking arms and stormed through the halls until I finally hit the office. The automatic doors opened at the slowest pace possible allowing me to see my Aunty awaiting me. Her furrowed eyebrows screamed anger as she looked towards me. It didn't matter though my mind and heart were pre occupied.

I tried to stop my heart from aching knowing Lisanna was about to tell me about her and Natsu picking up where they left off. I tried, I really did but I just broke down. Once the doors opened tears streamed down my face catching my aunty by surprise. I wrapped my arms around her causing her to stumble but it didn't matter.

 For once in my life I needed a mother figure to hold me and tell me it would be ok.
