Chapter 2-Back Down Memory Lane

I put my journal down and reached for my phone."Hello?" I asked

"Hey Liyah!"His voice was sweet and sexy like it had always been.

I giggled to the sound of it."Hey, what you been doing all day?"I asked

He let a long sigh."Nothing, just filming videos, you know the usual."

"Oh, hows your mother?"I asked. I often ask about her simply because she was like a another mother to me and she was sweet and a very warm-hearted woman.

"She's great she asked about you."

"Really? What she say??"I asked

"She was wondering when you'll be coming home."

"Tomorrow you know that."

"Oh yeah that's right you are coming home tomorrow. I'll let her know that."

"Okay."

"So how's the tour so far?"he asked

"It's good, I have one more show here and I'll be flying back to Las Angeles tomorrow for my performance there then after that I'm taking a break."

He laughed."How long of a break, Liyah?"

"Long enough, baby I'm tired as hell."

He laughed again"Well that's what touring does to you."

"I'm glad yoou understand" I said Sarcastically."So when do you start touring?"

"In 1981."

"What I thought it would be next year!"

"well I made some arrangements and had it done then, that way wall the awards would be out the way and so would the interviews."

"Oh that makes allot of since."Only he would think of that."Are Your brothers going with you?"

He let out another long sigh."Yep." He tried to make it more peppier but his came out a little more flat.

"Why do they have to come? your the one with the hit records."

"because Joseph want them to, but I swear this is gonna be the last time."

"Oh well..."i didn't really know what to say.

"Well what?"He  asked.

"Nothing, Hey do you remember when we all used to tour together."I asked quickly changing the subject.

"Yeah, how could i forget. We used to have a blast together."

"My favorite part was the practical jokes."

"Yeah that was mine too. Remember the one we played on Susanne?"

"How could I forget I was grounded for the rest of the tour."

"Why did we do that to her?"

"You don't remember?"

"Well, Refresh my memory."

"Remember she made us go clean that mess that Marlon and Jermaine made, because she thought we did and then she grounded us for a whole week and made us the trip to Disney World?"

"Oh yeah! I remember, and when we got off punishment we went out and bought all those pies, because it was her birthday. And we but whipped cream in some water guns. and we had all my brother in there plus your backup dancers and brought her and I was like 'This is to show how much we appreciate you for teaching us all the things we needed to know about show business' Then you were like 'and Susanne and Susanne!' She turned around and squished that pie right in her face. That was so funny that look she had on her face was so hilarious!"He said the started laughing

"We were laughing about that after the fact."

"I know that was just crazy, we were so bad."

"I know. Especially you and those jokes."

"Hey I wasn't the one to make them, every time you were mad at someone you got that evil look in your eye, remember in Joseph cursed you out and made you cry?"

I started laughing"Yeah that's one I would never forget."

"He made you cry and you made him that pie, but the joke was that you made him think that you cooked that with you poop in it. but you didn't. How old were you when you did that, fifteen I think."

I Laughed."I was. I had made him that pie and he told me to go do something but he said it so rudely so I was like 'Eat my shit!'"I was laughing so hard I couldn't get the rest of it out.

"Yeah and He was like "What You say to me little girl? and you said it again.He was getting so heated and Marlon a Jermain was just laughing their butts off."

"Then I think he asked me 'have you lost your mind little girl' and was like no, but you about to cause you just did.' and then he was looking so dumb he was like 'What' and I just kept looking at that pie that at him then back at that pie again until he got the point."I started l laughing so hard tears was coming out my eyes.

"You grounded for like five months straight."

"Yeah I know but it was wroth it."I laughed."We used to have so much fun together."

"Yep ever since the day we met."

"that's another day I would never forget."I could picture us sitting in that bench reading that book back stage of the Ed Sullivan show.

"Hey when you were young did you ever think we would end up together?" he asked. I could tell by the sound of his voice that he felt a little uncomfortable asking the question. I could picture him blushing so hard in embarrassment.

"No not while we were growing up." I said honestly.

"Neither did I, but mother did."

"She did?"I asked.

"Yeah, when we were sixteen, she said she could see us being together Just by the way we played together and everything. I didn't believe her then but the more time we spent together the more I saw it."

"Really?" I was shocked.

"Yep and as always she was right."

I laughed a little not really knowing what to say.

"Umm Liyah."

"Yeah?" I asked.

"If I ever asked you to marry me would you?"

I smiled"You know I would."

"You would?"

"Oh course. I love you and you mean the world to me Michael."

Just then there was a knock on my door."Hold on a minute baby."I saiid the placed my phone down and ran to the door."Who is it??"

"It's Keith."

I smiled and open the door to see my brother standing in front of me."Girl what are you doing?"He asked with a real irritated look on his face."WE have to get down the street so you can perform."

"Oh what time is?"I asked as I ran to grab my shoes.

"It's almost time to go on."

"Oh crap!" I said. I ran back to the bed and grabbed my phone."Hey baby, let me call you back okay, I have to go get on the stage."

"Okay." He said.

"Alright Bye" I gave him a kiss through the phone and then ran out of my hotel room.

When I got to the stadium I was immediately pushed in a chair to get my hair comb and to get into my clothes I could here my fans calling my name. Some saying Aaliyah, some saying Liyah others even saying Baby Girl. My make up artist and my hair stylist went as fast as they could and before I knew it I was getting ready to go on the stage. I closed my eyes picture michael's sweet face knowing that I was gonna be able to see him tomorrow for the first time in months I smiled then walked on the stage waving to all my screaming fans.
