Chapter 33: Getting Ready

"Aaliyah, stop shaking badly." My make up artist looked down at me, with an agrivated look.

I blushed and smiled sheepishly."Sorry."

"Why are you so nervous anyway?"

Keisha walked by and sat down in the small wooden chair closest me."Everyone is nervous on there big day, it's natural."She said.

"Well, I don't think the get as nervous as she is. She's messing up my masterpeice with this."She said. As she applied more mascara to my eye.

I wanted to roll my eyes, but i didn't want to mess up her masterpeice. "I'm just something might go wrong." I said.

"What could Possibly go wrong?" Jo anna asked

" well, it could rain, I could trip and fall on the isle, umm I could.get.so embarrassed that I go crawl in a corner and die-"

Jo Anna started laughing." Okay you over exaggerating."

" Well it could happen."

" Look Quality, just imagine its just you and Michael, thats it. No one else. I promise you'rell feel better then.

I just smiled ans nodded because Linda was now applying lip gloss to my lips. I had been sitting in that chair for three hours with hair and makeup. Letting all the bad things that could happen. It could rain, the wedding could end up being a complete mess. I. Had know clue as to what Keisha and Jo Anna was planning. I didn't.even know what my makeup looked like, or my hair, everything was a complete surprise. Even when I tried to peak out the Windows they had caught me before I could. My most.worry was the fact that my mother wasn't gonna be there, I mean I knew she was gonna be there in my heart but I just wished she could be there physically and not spiritually.

" ...for the honeymoon?" Linda asked but i was to.deep in my thought to catch.what she had said.

" What?"

" Where is Michael taking you for the honey moon?"

I shrugged." I don't know he -"

" Hey the-"

" Don't come in here." Keisha said.

" Oh sorry." It was La Toya" Umm, The groom and groomsmen are here." She sounded a little embarrassed.

Jo Anna looked at her watch."Right on time." She said almost to herself." Are you almost done, Linda?"

She finished adding the finishing touches to my eyebrows. When she was finished she straightened up." Done!" She sounded relieved and happy at the same time.

" Now can I see?"I asked.

" Yes yo can see now." Keisha turned the chair around Til I was fully facing the mirror.

My mouth dropped as soon as I saw myself, she did so perfectly. The soft eyeshadow brought out my light gray eyes. My eyebrows are neatly arched. My lips glisten with with a special shine.

My hair was in a half up half down hairstyle, with curls going on each.end." Oh my God, I love this!!"I squealed.

" I know, I'm good at what I do." She Saud, flipping her blonde hair back.

I rolled my eyes. But smiled and hugged her. Then there was a knock at the door. Keisha walked over to the dir and peaked out" Yes?" She asked.

" The father of the bride is here!"

" Daddy! C'mon in." She said.

She opened the door and Anthony walked in wearing a black suit with a red tie. He stopped short when he saw me." Well, looky here!" He exclaimed." You look gorgeous." GE tried to hug me butJo Anna stopped him.

" Sorry, but she cant be hugged until she gets to alter."

I rolled my eyes. Anthony started laughing." Okay, okay." He turned to me." I want to give you something." He said.

" what???"

He pulled me aside. He took out a little brass box. He opened it and it revealed a little hair comb. It had little diamonds and pearls, my moth dropped." This is beautiful." I said in awe.

" it was your mothers she wanted me to give it to you on your big day. So Now you have something old."

I was trying hard not to cry." This is the best gift anyone has giving to me." I said.

" She said it was her mothers, and she wanted to pass it on to you. I kept all this time, nearly forgot about it."

I laughed." Thanks daddy." I hugged him.

He gave me a long embrace and then pulled away from me." You go finish getting ready."

I smiled" okay."

He walked out the door.

Linda put the comb in my hair, it went perfectly with the style. Then it was time for the dress. The made close my eyes as they put it on me. Basically. I could tell by the way it felt that it was scrapped and it showed off my small figure. My biggest worry was what it was gonna look like.

"okay you can open your eyes,now." Jo Anna said.

I slowly opened my eyes. I found myself in a long white strapless dress, with little layers at the bottom. It had a little lacing in the front. I huge smile stretched across my face. It definitely wasn't to over the top or girly like I thought it would be." Oh, I just love it!!"

Jo Anna smiled." I knew you would." She said.

" where'd Keisha go?" I asked, looking around fir her.

" she went to go get ready, its almost time to start." Linda said.

" is it really?"

" yes, almost six o'clock." Jo Anna said looking down at her watch.

Linda grabbed my heels." Come on girl. "

I held out my right foot, she slide it on my foot. She did the same with my left.

"" okay, your ready to get married." She said with a huge smile.
