She reminded him of old summer nights.
When his spiky locks were the color of crimson blossoms, when his ocean eyes held innocence, because what a beauty she was, and what innocence she held in her eyes.
When he pranced around with his siblings without a care in the world, picking flowers and chasing butterflies, the smell of dewy lawn fresh in his mind.
Her skin, soft like his mother's touch.
Her smile, brighter than the warmth of the sun.
Her words, sickeningly sweet, like honey.
Dabi longed to go back to times where things were simple, reality hit him with a jolt- it had become complicated. His father hated him and he hated his father, yet he resembled Endeavor and the evil inside of his heart, as much as he wished it wasn't true.
And while he couldn't have the past, the days when he was merely a sinless boy, he had her.
AND HE WOULD NEVER LET HER GO.
