[name]'s body ached to the point of numbness. with every breath, her pained ribs threatened to crumble under the pressure of smoky air. her [e/c] eyes were bleak and tired, blurring the view of the dark sky above her.

the earth upon which the [h/c] haired girl lay on trembled with numerous sounds, blending together as one dull hum. warm, crimson liquid ran down her body, sending shivers up her spine.

"[NAME]!" a desperate call, warm and familiar, yanked said girl out of her tired haze. a face rose into her field of vision. although her vision was compromised, [name] knew the blur of faded turquoise locks could only belong to one person.

[name] smiled with comfort. she was walking the line of life and death, yet she felt oddly calm with the sight of him leaning over her, a silver-dotted, dark velvet sky in the background.

"tomura," [name] coughed out, weakly raising her [s/c] up to caress his panicked face, which was bare of his usual greyed hands.

"don't talk, idiot!" shigaraki hissed, looking around and scooping her limp body up in his arms. "save your strength, because we're getting the hell out of here!"

shigaraki's movement, however large or miniscule, sent sharp pangs of pain throughout [name]'s body. although she could feel herself crying softly with the waves of pain, they fell unregistered in her brain.

the only thing that her senses could clearly make out were narrowed, ruby eyes.

his jaw was clenched with semi-calmness and semi-anxiety as he quickly snuck away from the crisis. a group of villains had bombed the city center, and although the league of villains were not involved, shigaraki happened to be near the scene.

meanwhile, the civilian that he had secretly fallen for, [name] l. name], had been an unsuspecting victim of the attack.

the two had met when [name] had accidentally discovered an abandoned bar, mistaking one address for another.

shigaraki had taken her hostage and questioned her. upon realizing she wasn't a threat, he felt inclined to let her go instead of killing her, which was surprising, even to himself.

however, in conclusion of [name] keeping her life, tomura gained rights to visit her apartment in the city periodically to make sure she would keep her promise. of not ratting out the league's hideout, which she never did anyways.

as time went on, shigaraki had eventually fallen for [name]. she was kindhearted and sweet, even to a villain like him. her [e/c] eyes, which he had grown to love deeply, were always warm and accepting, just like her always-open arms.

he felt truly happy with her, and was even hopeful- which he, in the past, considered to be a truly disgusting feeling- that he could start a family with her, something which he lacked for most of his life.

shigaraki began to run faster. [name] wasn't going to die. the two still had a full life ahead of them, together.

assistance personnel was yet to respond, but [name] definitely felt safer with shigaraki than with any pro hero. his crimson eyes were steady as he kept running to the nearest hospitals.

[name]'s senses slowly began to fade.

the awareness of her body was lost first. the girl no longer felt the irritation of her parched throat, yearning for water.

"[name], hang in there!" shigaraki growled, glaring down at the [h/c] haired girl, as if his intimidation would somehow slow the pain, slow the failing of her brain shutting down.

the blue-haired male suddenly stopped, looking around a bit with panic. [name] could make out harsh, outdoor lights above the two of them, belonging to a hospital.

"I'm going to go in," shigaraki took in a deep breath, but [name] tugged his shirt weakly and shook her head.

"n-no, you can't.  they'll recognize you and put you in jail, you're wanted all over japan..." [name] coughed out, a few flecks of crimson landing on shigaraki's sleeve.

"I have to go in!" shigaraki said helplessly. "I can't leave your side!"

"leave me," [name] whispered. "I'll be okay. I promise."

shigaraki hestiated. he could go in with her, and guarantee the end of his life altogether. If he went, he would be by [name]'s side, incase these were her last moments...

NO! She's going to survive. shigaraki clenched his fist, repeating the words to himself as a sense of comfort.

"don't fucking die on me. I'll be right here, waiting for you. I promise I won't leave."

the large blaring of ambulance sirens began to quiet down, a signal that her sense of hearing had been the next to disappear.

[name] lovingly gazed into his deep, red eyes, seeing the faint illusions of a future in them. a family, children, a warm and safe house, all with him. she cupped his cheek and offered a weak smile to the young villain who she loved so much.

"I love you." tomura whispered, a single tear falling on [name]'s cheek.

his words fell on deaf ears, but [name] could make out the three words he mouthed. shigaraki laid her down gently in a safe spot near the ambulance dock.

ss the hospital doors opened to prepare for a new wave of ambulances, a group of shocked doctors quickly caught sight of her and took her in on a stretcher.

I love you too. [name] thought, for she could no longer speak.

the doctors quickly worked on her, but anyone in the room could see she was a lost cause. the white stretcher was stained dark red, as the sound of a flatline echoed in the blinding white room.

[name]'s eyes darkened, as her vision was the last of her senses to leave her. her body fell limp, revealing a thin chain adorned with a small ruby that was clutched tightly in her bloodied hand, which was now uncrumpled and lifeless.

___

"and this... happened two years ago?" A man with purple patches on his face and body scoffed. "so that's where that necklace is from?"

shigaraki stared bleakly at the chain he clutched, one with an [e/c] jewel hanging from it, swishing his liquor distastefully with the other hand.

he had waited hours for some news on her, finally growing frustrated and hacking into the hospital's records with his phone. upon seeing a time of death next to her name, he had never quite been the same.

she's gone. she died alone and cold, because I put my villain work above her. I shouldn't have done that. the thoughts tore at shigaraki's mental stability for hours, days, months.

he shouldn't have left her.

"very well, then." dabi said, breaking the silence. He pulled up a bar stool and sat next to the blue-haired male.

"you should trust me enough to join the league of villains, now." shigaraki sneered at dabi and toga, the new recruits.

I DON'T TELL JUST ANYONE ABOUT HER.
