This chapter starts off a little bit before the last chapter with Hayden ended. It will make sense when you read it.

I turn to Smokey as my tears slowly subside. She gives me a lazy look as she remains laying in her position. Typical cat.

Alright. You heard her. Time to wake up now. So get on it, chop chop. I send her a glare before turning my back to the stupid panther behind me. Nothing like being trapped in a space with your animal to make you really hate them.  I  envision the door to the outside, bricked up the same as it has been every other time. I focus on the wall, imagining it crumbling to the ground in a pile of rubble. The bricks slowly start to fall away, one at a time, until the entire thing crumbles to the ground. I let out a cheer of excitement as I  reach to grab the handle of the door. I turn it slowly and push on the door, only for it not to budge. Well that's fantastic. It's stuck. Great. I throw my weight into the door with a grunt. This time is pushes open a couple of inches before shutting again.

"Come help me you stupid stubborn cat," I growl out. She sighs in annoyance before trotting over to me. I count to three before we both push against it as hard as possible. The door swings open fully, allowing me enough space to dart through the door before it has a chance to close on me. I'm getting out of here one way or another. The door slums shut behind me, leaving me in a long black hallway with no doors or window. The only light or slightest resemblance of an exit is a small light at the far end of the hallway. A huge grin breaks out on my face just as I take off down the hall, running full speed towards the light. I'm finally getting out of here.

The farther I run, the brighter and closer the light gets. What started off as a small little window has grown into a bright doorway sized opening for me to run through. Almost there. My feet pick up the pace as I run straight into the blinding white light, closing my eyes in the process.

Suddenly, I'm no longer running. I'm not longer standing. And I am no longer in that beautiful dress. I feel the pressure of the mattress beneath my back, the soft fabric of the sheet against my bare skin. More importantly, I feel the amazing sparks that I have missed so much erupting from my lips and flowing through my body. My eyes flutter open to see his face, the face of my wonderful mate who has his eyes closed as he presses a gentle kiss to my lips. My body takes control of my actions, my lips moving with his as I try to deepen the kiss. His body stiffens slightly in response and he starts to pull away. I slide my arms up around his neck, tightening my grasp on him. He's not getting away that easy.

His eyes shoot open, staring deep into mine with shock before they fill with love. His eyes quickly shut  as he deepened the kiss. My fingers tangle in his hair, pulling gently on the ends causing him to growl softly. Someone coughs from across the room, but I ignore it to keep kissing him. Hayden pulls away, resting his head against mine gently. Our eyes meet, sadness and love filling them both.

"God Emmet, I've missed you so much," he whispers as a tear falls down his cheek. I brush my thumb gently across his cheek, wiping away the tear in the process with a soft smile.

"I love you Hayden, so much," I whisper softly.

"I love you too Emmet. More than the world." His lips meet mine again in a gentle kiss. Another cough comes from across the room causing us to move apart again. My eyes shift over Hayden's shoulder, only to see Ayden standing there holding a small girl to his side. My eyes instantly harden as my feline pushes forward, desperately seeking control.

"You," I growl out angrily before launching myself at him. The force of my attack sends us both to the ground with me landing easily on top of him. Pure rage fills every inch of my body as I land punch after punch to his face. Bones break and blood starts to pour from various wounds across his face as I continue to pummel him. The girl cries from beside us, but that does nothing to stop my attacks. Ayden lays there beneath me, not trying to defend himself in the slightest. Somehow, that only angers me more. I let out an angry growl as I continue my attack. He needs to die for what he did to me. Who does he think he is coming back here?

Suddenly two strong arms wrap around my waist, lifting me up into the muscular chest of my mate. I thrash around in his arms, desperate to get back to maiming the monster in front of me. His touch forces my body to relax, much to my displeasure. I don't want to relax. I want to kill the jerk.

"Shh love. Everything is okay," he whispers softly into my ear. My eyes shoot to him, turning my rage towards my thick headed mate.

"Okay? Everything is okay? He nearly killed me and trapped me in a coma for over a month and all you can say is that it's okay? Are you kidding me," I scream at him, thrashing around wildly in his arms. Stupid idiot mate being stronger than me. I'm going to kill him too. He's next on my list.

"He came here to apologize love. Apparently he got a second mate." I glare at my mate before glaring at Ayden, resorting to try and kill him with my eyes since I can't get to him.

"Whatever," I huff out, looking away from the both of them.  He places a soft kiss to the top of my head causing my body to relax a little more.

"I missed you so much," he whispers again. I give him a small nod, melting a little into his embrace.

"I really am sorry Emmet," Ayden mumbles quietly while the girl, his mate I guess, helps him off the ground. My harsh glare returns as I growl softly at him.

"Don't even start with my Ayden. You're lucky Hayden was here otherwise you would be ripped to pieces where you stand," I growl out. He looks down and nods slightly before gently guiding the girl out of the room. I'm still ticked off that he nearly killed me, new mate or not. The door shuts behind them finally leaving Hayden and I alone. Now. What would be the best possible use of this time? Hmm. I wiggle out of Hayden's grasp, much to his annoyance, and turn to look at him. My eyes trail up and down his muscular form, taking in the site I've been missing for the last month. He is definitely still as mouth watering as before.

"You need a shower," I state bluntly as I notice the greasy hair and disheveled look. While I don't mind him being a little rugged and disheveled, I'm not gonna stand for him not bathing. His eyes trail over my form, taking in the slightly revealing night shirt that he had apparently dressed me in. Lust clouds his eyes as he reaches out towards me.

"I'm not leaving you alone again kitten. Not after what happened," he growls lowly, gently grabbing my wrist to pull me towards him.

"I guess I can work with that," I say with a seductive wink before walking towards the bathroom attached to our room. A low growl rumbles through his chest sending my feline into a frenzy. Oh yeah, we definitely have missed our mate. He scoops me up into his large arms before taking off into the bathroom. We have lost time we need to make up for.
