***1 Month Later***

My fingers dance along the headstone gently, feeling the smooth marble underneath my fingertips as I  step around the cemetery. My eyes flickers across the names, name after name of lost souls as I make my way towards the reason I came here. My feet stop in front of the black marker, the shiny stone reflecting in the light of the sun. There is no name engraved on the stone as there is with the rest, customary for a witch's grave. My eyes slip closed as I  send a silent message up to her, one last apology for the way things went.

Emmet? Emmet, love, are you alright? Where are you? Hayden's deep, panic stricken voice floats through my head. I let out a small huff of air in annoyance.

I'm fine Hayden. I'll be back in a few minutes. I huff out through the link. He responds with a grunt before going silent. Ever since I woke up he's been so overly possessive and protective of me. I mean I'm not complaining, most of the time. I don't mind having a possessive mate, but he can be a bit overbearing at times. I place my hand over the stone one last time before turning to change into my feline mid-stride towards the woods. My feet carry me over the rocks and through the dense woods as I head back to the house, not paying much mind to the passing scenery.

As the house enters my vision, I shift back into my human form, slowly striding towards it. Hayden is waiting on the porch for me, stepping in my direction as I walk through the tree line. His arms wrap tightly around me as he pulls me into his body, inhaling my scent. His hands trail across my arms and down my body, checking for wounds or injuries.

"I wasn't gone that long," I mumble as I weave my fingers through his hair.

"I know." He pulls back slightly to lead me into the house. My fingers interlace with his as he head towards the stairs leading to the bedroom, a small smile forming on my face. As we climb the stairs, my vision starts to darken near the edges. My head feels like it's filling with cotton wool as my steps slow. I shut my eyes tightly before opening them, hoping it's just exhaustion causing me to be lightheaded. We near the top of the stairs when my vision goes completely black as I start to fall backwards down the stairs. Awesome. This is just awesome.

****************

My eyes slowly flutter open as I let out a small yawn. The dim light is easy on my eyes as I glance around the room, taking the familiar white setting and annoying machines. Why does it seem like I'm always in the infirmary? I glance over towards the small bed beside mine, taking in my sleeping mate. His brows are furrowed gently, but he looks peaceful aside from that. Yeah, I've gotta put an end to that peaceful sleeping thing. It just isn't going to work for me.

I slowly sit up in the bed, quietly pushing the sheet from my legs as I swing the quietly to the edge of the bed. My eyes remain trained on him, making sure he doesn't wake up before I get to enact my plan. He doesn't move, signaling that he's still asleep. I drop to the floor with a soft thud. As soon as my feet hit the floor, I take off running towards the bed before leaping into the air with ease. I land on top of him, straddling his waist as he jolts up in shock. He lets out a loud, deep growl as his eyes shoot around the room in a defensive motion. His breathing is deep and erratic as he looks for signs of danger before his eyes settle on me.

"Emmet," he growls deeply, anger lacing his tone as his eyes narrow in warning. I give him an innocent smile, fluttering my lashes as I glance up at him. His features soften slightly as he pulls me into his chest. Just as he's about to say something, the pack doctor strides into the room.

"You're going to get punished for that little stunt later," he whispers softly into my ear before turning his attention to the doctor. The doctor flips through his chart before glancing towards the bed I was previously in. A look of confusion flashes across his eyes before he glances towards Hayden.

"Ah, glad to see you both awake. Alpha, I have received the test results back. If I may," he states as he looks between Hayden and I in question. Hayden nods slightly, signaling for him to continue. "The Luna is pregnant, approximately a month." My eyes widen as my brows shoot up in shock. Pregnant? Me? No. I'm not pregnant.

"H-How," I stutter, shock consuming me. Hayden's arms tighten around my body as he purrs softly in delight. My eyes flick over to him, taking in the huge smile that is lighting up his features.

"Well, my love, when a boy and a girl really love each other, they get naked and have these special little adult hugs. Then the boy will sti-" I smack the back of Hayden's head before he finishes with a soft growl.

"I know how  it happens," I grumble out with a huff. His deep chuckle vibrates against my back as he trails his fingers gently down to my stomach. The doctor goes over a few things, explaining more in detail about the pregnancy and what to expect, before leading me to the ultrasound machine. I tug my shirt up as he squirts the gel on my stomach, earning a surprised gasp from me. That was a little chilly. The ultrasound wand trails across my stomach, hovering above my pelvis as he pushes the gel around. A soft heartbeat fills the room, the fast pace surprising me. The doctor clicks on the keyboard a few times, taking a screen shot a few times.

"Ah, there we go. Alpha, Luna, congratulations. You're having triplets," the doctor states with a large smile. That's when I notice, the heartbeat wasn't extremely fast. It was three separate beats. Well, that's unexpected.
