"Ayden," I growl out, my wolf instantly pushing to the surface. My eyes remain locked on my brother as I lean my body over Emmet's more, blocking her from his view.

"In the flesh dear brother," he chuckles. My wolf growls in anger, pushing me to kill him this instant. He has no issue that it's my brother.

"How are you still alive? I thought I killed you." I narrow my eyes at him, barely containing my wolf from finishing the job.

"Well you see, brother, you almost did. But luckily you didn't ensure that I was completely dead before you left me there. So, here I am. Alive and well. Don't worry though, I'm not here to hurt you precious little mate or anyone else in your pack. The verdict is still out of you though. We'll play that one by ear. I just wanted to come and apologize for what I did. I found my mate, well my second mate. I guess the goddess decided to give me another one, or maybe it was all because of her. Regardless, I have her now." A happy smile crosses his face as he mentions his mate. As if on cue, a small girl bounces in the room. Her dark brown curls flow behind her as she steps beside Ayden. She is maybe a little bigger than Emmet, but not much. She is pretty, but no where near as beautiful as my precious mate though. She presses herself into Ayden side causing him to wrap his arm protectively around her side, pressing a soft kiss to her temple.

"Hayden, this is Ali, my perfectly beautiful mate. Ali, this is Hayden, my brother." I smile politely at Ali. She didn't do anything. She is just a bystander to everything. I slowly rise from the bed, walking over to the man who I used to call my brother. My fist connects with his nose instantly. My wolf growls in appreciation as the sickening crack that echoes through the room. Ali gasps and immediately starts fretting over her bleeding mate. I lay back down beside Emmet, protectively wrapping my arms around her waist.

"Ali, sweetheart, it's okay. I deserved that and more," Ayden mumbles, gently removing Ali's hands from his face. I place soft kisses around Emmet's face, paying no mind to the couple behind me but never taking my guard down.

"Please wake up love," I whisper softly into her ear. Just like I do every few minutes.

"Hayden... Sorry doesn't even begin to describe the extreme regret that I feel for what I did. I will live with the regret and guilt for what I did for the rest of my life. I wish for nothing more than the chance to take back what I did," Ayden whispers out softly, sorrow filling his voice.

"Yeah, me too." My eyes close tightly to keep the tears in as I rest my head on Emmet's shoulder.

"Has she made any improvement?" I shake my head slowly, pain filling my heart at the thought of it.

"Please Emmet, please wake up," I whisper softly into her ear again, my voice cracking from the emotion. I  place a gentle kiss to her lips once more. I start to pull back when I suddenly feel her lips moving with mine slowly. My body freezes up in shock. That's just my imagination. I already know it. I move to pull away again, only for her small arms to wrap around my neck to keep my in place. My eyes snap open, clashing with her beautiful blue ones, before I deepen the kiss. Goddess, she's finally awake. I push all the love and emotions I feel into the kiss, wanting her to know just how much I love her. Her fingers gently snake into my hair, tugging softly at the ends earning a soft growl from me.

An awkward cough sounds from behind us, causing me to tense my body as I remember his presence in the room. I pull away to rest my forehead on Emmet's, my eyes staying closed as I enjoy the feeling of her. Our heavy panting fills the room, our breathing in sync. My eyes open to meet her deep blue ones.

"God Emmet. I've missed you so much," I whisper softly as a tear slips down my cheek. Her delicate hand reaches up to gently wipe it away, a soft smile gracing her features.

"I love you Hayden, so much."

"I love you too Emmet. More than the world." I press my lips to hears again softly. Ayden coughs again from behind us. Except this time, Emmet notices as well. Her eyes drift to Ayden before instantly darkening to a deep black.

"You," she growls out, her voice deep and animalistic. She slips from my grasp before I can react and launches herself at Ayden. They both crash to the floor from the impact, Emmet landing on top of him. Her small fists instantly go to work in pummeling my brother to a bloody mess on the floor. My eyes light up in amusement as I watch my tiny mate maul my brother, who is easily twice her size.

Ali's crying grabs my attention from the scene for a moment. Her mouth is wide in shock and pain as she stares at her mate  being beaten. Emmet's fists fly into face, landing punch after punch with scary precision. After a few minutes of the merciless assault, I decide it's time to step in. I gently wrap my arms around Emmet's waist, easily lifting her into my arms to cradle her to my chest. Her small form thrashes around, desperately trying to get back to her task of killing him.

"Shh love. Everything is okay," I whisper softly in her ear. Her black eyes shoot to mine sending me a murderous look. That was definitely not the correct thing to say.

"Okay? Everything is okay? He nearly killed me and trapped me in a coma for over a month and all you can say is that it's okay? Are you kidding me," she screams at me, anger filling her voice as she continues to thrash in my arms.

"He came here to apologize love. Apparently he got a second mate," I explain. I'm still tense and unsure of my brother. I wouldn't trust him to watch a stick, much less be alone near my mate. Her tense form is still shaking slightly as she sends harsh glares in his direction.

"Whatever," she huffs out, turning to face the opposite direction. Well, at least she's not trying to kill him.
