"Where are YOU going?!"

The voice boomed through the deserted corridors. Klaus and I stopped in our tracks. We looked at each other, a look of panic and worry filled his face, like he may as well have the words "I'm spooked" etched on his forehead in black ink.

"What should we do?" I mouthed, silently.

"How am I supposed to know..." klaus replied, the agitation in his face becoming clearer and clearer.

"Okay, turn around slowly..."

So we did. We turned slowly, careful not to drop the extreme piles of books that both of us were carrying. When I turned round, I came face to face with the person that my heart hates most. The very sight of them made my skin crawl and the sound of their voice made my ears bleed. Stood in front of me, was Carmelita Spats.
She came back to Prufrock Prep after Esme was arrested for child endangerment and accompanying a murderer. Ever since she came back, life just got worse. She had to wear uniform to lessons now that Principal Marley was here, but she still got away with everything...

"You didn't answer my question cake sniffers!!" She shouted, her small hands clenched into tiny fists.

"Sorry Carmelita, Klaus and I are going to the library to return these books to Miss Emptee"

"Yeah, we were just on our way" Klaus added, looking slightly calmer.

"Well..." She was obviously running out of something to say. It was quite funny actually. "Well...CAKESNIFFING ORPANS SITTING IN A TREE!! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!"

Oh no...that was pretty loud...the whole school will have heard that. I look at Klaus in panic, what are we supposed to do now?! We can't run because we'd have to drop the countless number of heavy books in our hands, and we both care far too much about books to do that!

"Carmelita, we're not in love, we're not together. We're just friends." Klaus explains

" No you're not!" Carmelita spits "you'll have to prove it!"

"How can we prove that we're just friends Carmelita? It can't be done" I counter. This was becoming a full blown argument now. One that I didn't have the time or energy for.

"Kiss!" She sings "True friends would feel completely uncomfortable kissing each other, but if you were in love, you would feel comfortable"

That actually makes a tiny bit of sense. I turn to face Klaus, he doesn't seem nervous at all. We lean in and kiss each other on the lips.

The kiss was meant to be a peck, but I was much more. We dropped the books that we cared so much about and wrapped our arms around each other. His hands held onto my waist and my hands were wrapped tightly around his neck. I felt like I was flying! I have never felt lighter in my whole life than I did at that moment. Words, sentences, not even couplets can describe it.

"Umm...what's happening?" Three very familiar voices echoed through the corridors. Klaus and I pulled away, smiling hopelessly at each other before we turned around to see Duncan, Quigley, Violet and dear little Sunny, who stood next to Violet, covering her eyes with her little hands. Confusion, betrayal and happiness were reflected in all four facial expressions in front of us. I would say five, but Carmelita had disappeared.

"So...um...you guys are a thing now?" Quigley asked, holding tightly onto Violet's hand.

"Hey! I could ask the same thing about you!" Klaus exclaimed, it was hard to tell what he was feeling, but whatever it was, I really liked it.

"Yeah, but we just walked in on you shoving your tongue down our sister's throat in a very public place! If your gonna snog her, do it right!" Duncan shouted.

"Stop all of you!" Violet spoke and we all fell into order. There was silence once more. "Look, it's none of our business what they do together, as long as it isn't stupid, then we should leave them to it. And Klaus, Quigley and I are not an item. He hasn't even kissed me yet..."

Okay Quigley, that was obviously a hint that she wants you to kiss her. How can he not see that!? I'll have to talk to both of them later...

"Fine, well, Isadora and I need to get to the library to return the books we're..."
We all took one look at the ground. There, was every book that Klaus and I were holding, balancing on our way to the library. When I saw them all spread across the floor, all I could do was let out a huge sigh.

Sunny moved from beside Violet and began picking up the smaller books and hugging them to her chest "Helping." She said, a huge and giddy smile spread across her face. Her little hands grabbed book after book, and before long, everyone was helping. The five of us. The argument was forgotten and we were all on good terms again. And we all, all being the five of us, carried the books to the library. Klaus held my hand the whole way.

It felt good to be with him. It was really natural and I could be myself. No pretending. We all sat on the dormitory, thinking of something we could do. Then, it came to me...

"Every Saturday should be a movie day!"

The sound of approval waved through the room and Duncan got up from the chair to match and wandered into his room to hunt through his extensive D.V.D collection.

"Um, I have Batman? Spider-Man? Avengers? Harry Potter? STAR WARS!? Oh... or I have It, the quiet place, I have a friends box set... what do we want?"

I wasn't listening. Not properly anyway. I was paying more attention to the guy I was leaning on.

"Hey..." he said. He was avoiding my eyes, he's nervous. "I was just wondering if...perhaps...you don't have to...but if would be...I mean...I would like it if..."

"Yes"

"But I didn't finish the question..."

"Yes Klaus, I will be your girlfriend"
