So, it's been eight months since...well...everything between Klaus and I started. We still haven't spoken to each other. I was less angry now, but that didn't make it better.

We were all sitting in the living room. We had finally furnished the whole house. We even did a nursery for baby Quagmire! Although, it was really hard to pick the colour because Vi and Quigley didn't want to know the gender. We painted the walls a meadow green instead. Violet was really big now, and her due date was coming up. I could tell she was excited, she smiled all the time and rested her hand on her stomach. We all sat together. In silence. I felt kind of guilty for that because you could tell that the awkward silence was because Klaus and I refused to speak to each other. So we just sat. In silence. Until it happened...

Violet's smile fell. She whipped around and grabbed Quigley's arm, squeezing it until her knuckles were white. "Something's happening! What if there's something wrong?!" She screamed.

"Violet, some babies come a few weeks early, it's fine, I'll call your midwife and I'll get her to come as soon as she can." Quigley replied, flinching as Violet squeezed his arm "Issy, you're her birthing partner, could you take her upstairs while I call the hospital?"

I leapt up from my position on the sofa and everyone followed my suit. I ran over to Violet who was still clutching Quigley. I prized her hands off of his arm, which took a lot of effort in my part and held her hand as we started walking towards her room. Everyone followed, shouting words of comfort, and I don't know about Violet, but it was really getting in my nerves!

"RIGHT! IT ONLY TAKES ONE PERSON TO TAKE VIOLET TO HER ROOM! SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!" I shouted. Duncan, Klaus and Sunny frowned and stood there, seeming a little perplexed at my sudden outburst. Quigley found it hilarious.

When we got to Violet's room, I sat her on her bed, propped the pillows up and sat beside her "Have your waters broken yet?"

"I didn't think so...Issy what if something...AAARGHHH!" She screamed, grabbing my arm.

"Violet, don't you think you're being a bit over dra...NOPE...VIOLET THAT HURTS!" I screamed as she squeezed my arm

"EXACTLY!" She said "YOU WANNA SWAP PLACES!?!"

We sat, both screaming mutually every time there was a contraction. Violet screamed because of the contraction, I screamed for my arm. The door opened, and Quigley came in, looking really panicked.

"Quigley, please tell me that nothings wrong..." I said, flinching again and biting my lip as Violet screamed.

He started to panic. "So...um...I called the...um...and they said...um...they...do you need some towels? I'll get some towels."

"QUIGLEY!!"

"The midwife can't make it!" He shouted "she's on another call and they can't send anyone else! We're just going to have to...have to..."

"To what?" I asked

"Wing it...?"

Perfect. I started to think. I had read millions of books on childbirth, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I did this, right?

"Okay, Quigley, call everyone in here now!"

He left and came back a couple of minutes later with the whole team.

"Okay, the midwife can't make it, so it's up to us. I'm going to give each of you a job and you HAVE GOT TO LISTEN! NO arguments! Understood?"

Everyone nodded.

"Perfect! Right, Duncan, go and fetch towels, Sunny, could you go and boil some water? Klaus, go and find the book on childbirth in the library, it's called Childbirth: The complications got it?" I turned to Violet, who, at the word complications, began to panic. "Just in case. Quigley, sit with Violet and let her squeeze her hand or something. GO GO GO!!"

Everyone rushed to their assigned post, each coming back later with the things I asked. "Thank you, now...um...wait outside, in case I need one of you again"

"Um...Issy?"

I turned around and saw that Violet's waters had broken. I told Quigley to keep her as calm as possible while I made sure everything was okay.

"So, Vi, I'd say that you're about 5cm dialated. So just keep calm, it shouldn't be too long."

It was long. The three of us were in that room for maybe 5 hours before something finally happened.

"Vi, you're at 10cm! Time to..."

"Issy?" Quigley asked

I opened the book that Klaus had picked up from the library and turned to page 57. Is Baby Breech?

The only sound were Violet's screams, but I could let her push. Not yet. I ran to the door and turned to Klaus.

"Right, listen to me! I know that you did something really cruel and heartless. But I've been a stubborn pig about it and should have gotten over it b now, I mean, it's been eight and a half months! But, if you want your sister, and your niece or nephew safe, we need to put everything behind us and move on. And you need to do exactly as I say! Okay?"

He didn't even hesitate in agreeing.

"Brilliant, now run, and I mean run and get warm towels, a straw from the kitchen and a funnel, go! And make sure it's all clean!"

I didn't have time to watch him sprint down the hall, because Violet's screams got louder. I ran into her room and fold her to hold on for Klaus, he won't be long. He had better not be long...

Klaus came back with everything I needed. He put it in the bed and his face went white when he saw his sister, on her bed, sweating an screaming, grasping into her boyfriends arm.

"Klaus, over here" I pointed to a space on the bed and told him to sit. He obeyed and held onto Violet's leg as we were about to toy with fate. Either, this would go well, or really, really wrong...

"Okay Violet...PUSH!!"
