Chapter 14

As they walked, Luigi caught sight of a pink flower. He looked at Lightning and back at it. Without being noticed, he slowed down and walked towards the flower. He carefully picked it and carried it in his mouth towards Lightning.

He tapped her shoulder softly. He blushed when he looked at her. "I-I... Um... H-here... I got this for you..." he replied.

Lightning took the flower from Luigi's mouth. Luigi shied away and tried to hide a blush. "Awww!! Luigi... That's so sweet... Thank you..." she told him, kissing him on the cheek.

Luigi blushed even more. "Y-you're welcome... Oh! I got an idea for what we could do with it.... Um... May I?"

Lightning nodded. Luigi took the flower back and bit the stem off. He put the flower around her bow. "There you go..." he said, softly.

Lightning looked into the nearby pond. "It's perfect, Luigi." She replied with a smile. "Thank you... I love it..." she pulled Luigi into a hug. Luigi had the strange urge to cry tears of joy but he decided to try to hide it as best he could. When Lightning pulled away, Luigi stared into her eyes.

"We should go catch up with the group..."

"Oh... Um... R-Right..." he stuttered.

"Come on..." Lightning took his paw and they rushed back to the group.

Luigi tried to hide his blush as they walked but Mario seemed to notice. He walked to Luigi's side and smirked. Luigi turned to look at Mario.

"Wh-What???" He questioned.

"Oh it's nothing... I just think my little brother is trying to hide something from me..." Mario answered.

"Wh-what do you mean? I'm not hiding anything..." he lied, turning away from him.

"Luigi..." Mario replied, unconvinced.

"It's nothing... I swear..."

"You have a crush on Lightning, do you, Bro?"

"Well..."

"So you do!!" Mario giggled, bumping Luigi with his shoulder. "No wonder why you wanted to see her again... I should have known something was up..."

"Mario...." Luigi groaned, turning red in embarrassment.

"What??? Is there something wrong? I'm just happy for you... Is there a problem..."

"Um..."

"So when are you planning on asking her out?" Mario asked.

"Huh? I-I-I Well I mean she actually asked me out already."

"Really? When?" Mario cocked his head in curiosity.

"Well before we left the Pokémon World the first time."

"You mean you had a girlfriend this whole time and you didn't even tell me??? I'm your brother, Luigi!"

"I-I'm Sorry Mario... I would have told you... But I was afraid about what you would think..."

"What I would think... I think it's amazing that you have a girlfriend now Luigi. I'm so proud of you..." Mario replied with a smile.

"Th-Thanks Mario..." Luigi replied.

Churro looked at the brothers. "So.. What are you two talking about?" He asked, curiously.

"Oh nothing much..." Luigi replied.

"Alright then..." Churro replied.

Lightning suddenly halted and Luigi bump into her.

"Um... S-Sorry Lightning... I-I didn't mean to..."

"It's alright Luigi..." Lightning's ears suddenly perked and she looked forward in alarm.

"What is it Lightning???" Mario asked.

"I hear something... It sounds like... Wings flapping..." she answered.

"Wings flapping??" The Brothers questioned in unison.

Their ears perked as well as if they heard something too. "Yeah... I hear it now too..." Luigi replied.

"I do too..." Mario responded. "What do you think it's coming from?"

"I'm not sure... But.." before Lightning had the chance to finish her statement, they were all of a sudden face to face with Paarthurnax.

Luigi gulped in fear. "P-P-P- Paarthurnax..."
