Chapter 31

Luigi groggily opened his eyes and groaned in pain.

Mario turned his attention to Luigi and helped him up. "Are you Alright, Bro?"

"I-I think so..." he muttered before he winced from a painful shock. "Ow..."

"You should take it easy for a bit Luigi" Alex told him.

"I guess you're right but we need to get out of here. W-we can't just stay here. Who knows what K-King Boo will do..."

"He's right. We also need to figure out what they did to you after taking that Thunderstone out of you by force." Gabe responded.

"And don't forget about Klefki." Lightning spoke up. "But we need to plan our own escape first."

Thunder followed their scent to the old haunted mansion. "They must be in there..." he said to himself before running into the house. He slowly and cautiously walked around the creepy building. He stayed as quiet as he could to avoid being found. "I just have to find Lightning and her friends and get out of here..." he thought.

He continued following their scent until he stopped at the door he assumed they were in. "Their scent stops here... It must be it" he pushed the door open to see that he had been right. The group of friends were in a cage.

Lightning was the first to spot him. "Dad...?"

The Raichu gasped in surprise and ran over to the cage. "Lightning, thank Arceus you're safe. I need to get you out of here!"

"You have to hurry who knows when King Boo will come back!" Luigi responded.

Thunder snapped at him. "Can it Humon, you're the one who put my daughter in this mess anyways. If you never came into this world, my daughter would never be in danger like this. Once I get her out of here, you have some explaining to do about those ghosts. This is all your fault! She should never have met you!" He growled.

Luigi frowned and looked down at the floor. Thunder's words stung his heart.

Thunder sighed and tried to relax. He had to focus on getting them out of their situation. He used Iron Tail on the lock to break it. The pieces then fell to the ground. The group flinched at the loud clinging sound the pieces made when they hit the ground. Thunder slowly opened the door and the group of friends hurried out of the cage one by one.

"Now let's get out of here before we get caught." Thunder told them.

Wait! We have to find Klefki first. We can't leave her here." Mario replied.

Thunder rolled his eyes. "Fine... but make it quick. If my daughter gets hurt, I'm holding you humons responsible!"

They walked out of the dungeon room to look for their key friend.

They continued walking until they stumbled across the biggest area in the House. They assumed it was the living room. They saw Klefki floating in the air with a purple aura around her. King Boo was using his Psychic Power to keep her from going anywhere. Luigi didn't seem to notice King Boo was right by her side when he whispered to her, hoping to get her attention, "Klefki..."
