"Oh honey, you look so beautiful," my mother Sheryl said as we both stood in front of my full sized mirror, her in her conservative skirt and me in my medium length black dress, feeling small and self conscience.

"Are you sure Mom?" I asked as I tugged my strapless dress up some, feeling afraid for what might happen tonight. I never had much for breasts, so the dress felt as if it was slipping down constantly.

"September Alexis Williams, you are a gorgeous young lady and that Derek is sure lucky to have you," my mother said sincerely, kissing my curled black hair. She left my room to leave me to finish, and I began applying light pink lipstick when my iPhone vibrated.

Derek: cant wait to be with u tonite ;)) <33

Derek: i bet you look beautiful <3

Derek: c u in 5

I smiled as I read the messages, feeling glad that I had such a nice boyfriend. I grabbed my purse and phone and headed downstairs to wait for Derek to arrive.

The sound of the doorbell ringing echoed in the large living room. Derek was here, and I was finally going to the Fall Dance with him.

My mother ran to the door excitedly, and greeted him kindly when he came in. He shook her hand politely, and told her what an amazing daughter she had. I blushed when I heard this, and I walked into the entranceway so he could finally see me dressed up.

"Wow," Derek said under his breath, his brown eyes wide and his smile wider. I blushed again and looked to the ground, and he walked over and took my hand. "You look so beautiful tonight," he said to me as he gave me a red rose. I had always liked daisies more, but the gesture was still extremely kind. I took the flowers and handed them to my mother, who I knew would put them in a vase instantly. She left to go to the kitchen and that was when Derek tilted my chin up and kissed my lips gently. "I love you," he said to me after.

"I love you too," I replied, and with that we left and made our way to his car.

"You know baby, you really are beautiful tonight," Derek said to me smiling as we passed the park I met up with Perry at earlier. "I'm almost afraid," he began, taking my wrist, "that things might get a little to hot," he finished, kissing my wrist and hand up and down. I flinched at first, not being used to people touching me that intimately.

"I love you and all, but-please watch the road!" I yelled out of fear, the words I had meant to say being thrown away in order to save our lives. He swerved to the right side of the road, having veered to the left, and I could finally breathe right again.

"Sorry," he flatly said, obviously embarassed by what just happened. "I guess you in that dress distracts me too much," he laughed out.

"I guess I better get out then," I joking replied. I grabbed his right hand and squeezed it gently, and we finally made it to the school.
