My eyes fluttered open, and then squinted when the harshness of the white, fluorescent light hit them. I felt someone holding my right hand, so I rolled my head over to the right.

"Hey," Xavier said to me with a smile. I noticed that my right wrist was bandaged, and I was hooked up to an IV. My head pounded with pain.

"What happened?" I asked, feeling drowsy from the drugs that were circulating throughout my body.

"You slammed your head against the wall really hard, and you hurt your wrist pretty bad" he explained, looking sad. "You're okay now, but you really scared some people. You really scared me September," he said quietly, his eyes shifting away from my face.

"How long have you been here?" I asked, my lips feeling dry and cracked.

"I've been sitting here since they brought you in yesterday," he said. Suddenly, the memory of it all came back to me. Derek had lied about what happened between us, and I ran out of the Halloween Dance and to my house, smashing my head against the wall several times because of the intense pain I felt.

"Is it true? What he said?" Xavier asked me.

"No," I replied flatly.

"September, I know something happened. Please just tell me what," he begged, squeezing my hand a bit tighter, letting me know he was there for me.

"When we were in that staircase," I started to explain, my voice quiet, "he hurt me. It isn't like he says it was. I didn't want to."

Xavier frowned, his eyebrows furrowing together, realizing the true pain I was feeling. He released my hand, knitting his fingers together, and placing them to his face.

"I can't believe he did that." he said, and I felt instantly terrible. The only person I came close enough to trusting completely didn't believe me either. Why did I ever deserve for this to happen to me? First, I was raped, and then afterwards my words were discredited by everyone around me.

"I can't believe he is such an idiot to hurt someone like you," he finished. I smiled, feeling happy that he believed me, and I reached my hand out for him to grab, which he did.

"You should rest now September," he said to me. I nodded, letting myself feel relaxed once again. Before I fell asleep, I looked to him and said one last thing.

"You said you would catch me," I said, looking at him.

"I'm here, ain't I?" he said, smiling. I let my eyes shut, and fell into a deep sleep once again.
