A/N: okay so this is another triggering/mature chapter.

hopefully you guys have been enjoying the story so far.

"You're going to go to the dance with that hooligan that drops you off everyday?" my mother asked astonishingly when I told her I was leaving soon. "What happened to Derek?"

"His name is Xavier, and yes, I am going to the dance with him," I explained to my mother as I looked at myself in the mirror. I had on the dress Xavier picked out, and my hair was straightened. My mother cringed when she seen my converse on, but never mention it aloud. "And Derek, well, he hurt me so I cut him out of the picture," I said to her.

"He "hurt" you? You know how wrong it is to lie, September." she said, trying to caution me. I exhaled deeply, her words stressing me out more than I needed.

"I am not lying, mother," I said with anger in my voice. Any time I tried to tell the truth about what happened, people told me I was lying.

"Anyways dear, please be safe. I'll see you tomorrow at lunch. I have a night shift," she said as she kissed my cheek. I heard the door shut as she left the house, and I finally felt okay again.

The doorbell rang a couple minutes later, and I knew that it was Xavier. I opened the door slowly, and was amazed by how well Xavier looked. He had on black skinny-jeans, red converse, and a white button-up shirt under his leather jacket. He smiled wide as he seen me in my dress.

"You look beautiful September," he said. I blushed, and he led me out the door and into his car.

"So you are positive you want to go?" he asked me, nervously messing with his lip ring.

"I am sure I want to go. I love hanging out with you," I said with a smile. He looked over at me, smiling also, but I could see concern in his eyes. He thought something was going to go wrong, but I ignored his paranoia.

We made it to the school, and before getting out, Xavier looked at me with care in his eyes.

"We can go whenever you want September. You just tell me when, and we're gone," he explained with a smile. I nodded, and with that we left the car to go in.

"Tickets please," Perry said as we came to the dance entrance, rolling her eyes at the sight of me. I was surprised at first to see her working the booth, but then remembered that she must have gotten put on duty because of her troublemaker ways. Xavier handed her the tickets, and we both walked into the warm gym together.

Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls was playing when we walked in, so Xavier asked me if I wanted to dance. I smiled and said I wanted to, and he pulled me in, holding me close as we swayed along to the song. I could feel his heart beat quick, and wondered if it was because of me or if he was always like that.

When the song was over and we were done dancing together, I seen Derek on the other side of the gym, hanging all over Trish. That was when he seen me. I started to shake a little, but continued to talk to Xavier. I could see from the corner of my eye Derek coming towards us, and out of fear I grabbed Xavier's hand, giving him a scared look.

"Look who decided to show up with this guy and not me," Derek started mockingly. I rolled my eyes and stepped back away from him, but he got even closer. "Why didn't you come with me S? Don't you remember what happened at the last dance? The beautiful thing that happened?" I flinched when he began talking about what happened, and I stepped back again.

"Xavier, if you were wondering what I am talking about, I will let you know. Me, and your current date, September, totally had sex in the staircase at the fall dance!" Derek exclaimed proudly. Xavier gave me a surprised look, and that was when I ran out of the gym. "Didn't she tell you?" I heard Derek ask before I left.

I was running in the street, feeling glad that I was wearing converse instead of heels like last time, and finally made my way to my house. I looked behind me before walking in, and noticed that far away Xavier had been following me.

I slammed the door and ran into my bathroom, breathing heavy from panic, fear, and anger all at the same time. I just couldn't hold it in anymore. I wanted it all to go away. I didn't want to see Derek's proud face, Perry's judging eyes, and Gwen's snarls ever again. I cried harder than I had ever cried before, my small body curled in a ball on the floor. My sharp nails scratched the pale skin of my wrist, my heart aching to get away from the pain. To take it all away. All it did was leave minuscule scratches on my wrist and I hit my head against the wall repeatedly, getting harder and harder with each hit. The world around me began to blur.

The last thing I seen were Xavier's green eyes crying.
