It was now Monday, and I was back at school. I had forgotten my textbook and notes for second period, so the teacher allowed me to go to my locker and grab my things.

I heard a classroom door open and close. Out of curiosity I looked to see who the person walking down the hall was. It was Kristine.

I turned my attention back to my locker, finally getting it open.

"Oh, hey, Jessie." She said as she walked up beside me. "Did Austin admit he misses me yet?"

I ignored her, hoping she'd get the hint and leave me alone, but she didn't. She stayed there, staring at me.

"I don't know what he sees in you. He made a mistake by letting me go."

"Shut up, Kristine." I yelled, slamming my locker shut. "Stop obsessing over my boyfriend, and move on." I began walking off, but I stopped when I heard her say something.

"I can't wait for the moment when he realises that i'm the better choice, and leaves you."

"And I can't wait for the moment when you realise that you don't mean shit to him anymore." I turned back around and walked to class.

I was fuming, but I tried to calm myself down before I got back to science. I walked into the class and sat in my usual seat between Austin and Avery.

Right away, they sensed something was wrong.

"You okay?" Avery asked.

"I'm fine." I sat back in my seat and crossed my arms.

"Are you sure?" Austin asked.

"I said i'm fine." I snapped.

I felt guilty immediately after I said it, but I pushed it aside.

The rest of the period dragged on and neither one of them talked to me, probably because they were afraid i'd yell at them again. The bell rang and I got up from my seat and exited the classroom. I waited outside until they both came out.

"I'm sorry, guys." I said as they approached me.

"It's all good. I'll catch you next period." Avery said, walking away and leaving me and Austin alone.

"I'm sorry." I said again.

"It's okay." He said, grabbing my hand. "What's wrong."

"I saw Kristine in the hallway and of course, she just had to stop and say something to me."

"What'd she say?" He asked, turning to me.

"She pretty much said she doesn't know what you see in me and she thinks she's better than me." I explained.

"Well, it doesn't matter what she thinks. She just can't handle the fact that i've moved on and found someone better." He said. "Don't let her get on your nerves, babe, that's just what she wants." He gave my hand a squeeze.

"I know, but it's annoying."

"Just be the better person."

"Yeah, yeah. Get to class." I teased. We kissed quickly and parted ways.

The rest of the day flew by and I was now walking home with Connor and Austin.

"I have so much homework to do." I complained.

"Me too." Connor agreed.

"Yeah, I do too." Austin said.

"And then we have that science test tomorrow. I don't know any of the stuff that's going to be on there." I said.
