♡ Chapter 24 ♡

"I'm going to be forever alone." Avery whined, throwing herself back on my bed.

I had invited her to come over after school and we were now in my bedroom.

I laughed at her outburst. "No you won't."

"Yes I will."

"No you won't." I said again. "I'll set you up."

Instantly someone came to mind.

"With who?"

"Connor."

"Your hot friend?" She asked, sitting up.

"Wait, you think he's hot?" I laughed.

"Well, yeah. A lot of girls do." She said.

"Really? I am so setting you up with him."

I grabbed my phone and texted Connor.

'Meet me at the park in 5 -jessie'

"Come on. I told him to meet us at the park."

"No. Jessie, I can't." She pleaded. "Let's just stay here."

"You were just complaining about being forever alone, so I'm going to help you. We're going." I grabbed her hand and pulled her down the stairs.

"If this doesn't go well, it's your fault." She warned.

"Yeah, yeah. You'll be fine." I smiled.

We walked to the park and sat down on a bench. I tried calming her down while we waited for Connor to arrive.

"Hey." He said as he came up to us.

"Hey." I smiled back. "Oh, this is Avery." I pointed to her and she waved.

He smiled and waved back. "I'm Connor."

"Nice to meet you." She smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." He said.

I scooted over so that Connor would have a spot to sit in between me and Avery.

"Sit." I smiled, patting the empty spot on the bench.

"So, what's up?" Connor asked us as he sat down.

"We were just bored and I thought we could hang out." I answered. I glanced at Avery to let her know that she should talk.

She nodded and asked, "So how do you like the new school, Connor?"

He turned his head towards her to answer and I gave her a thumbs up with a smile.

They began a conversation so I took out my phone.

'You should come meet us at the park. -jessie'

I sent a text to Austin, and waited for his reply.

'Sure. Who's us? ~Austin'

'Me, Avery, and Connor -jessie'

'On my way ~Austin'

I pretended to engage in the conversation until I saw Austin walking down the street.

"Oh, hey, look. It's Austin." I said.

They turned their heads in his direction.

"If you guys don't mind, i'm going to go with him for a while." I said, winking at Avery while Connor wasn't looking.

"Yeah, go ahead." She smiled.

I got up and met Austin halfway.

"Hi." I smiled.
