Ch 8: Can We Talk Jonah?

       It was Saturday. I had plans to meet Buffy, Andi, and Jonah at the outlet mall. I was getting ready when I got a text from Tj.

Tj❤: How's my Dorky doing this morning?

Me: He's doing fine, you?

Tj❤: I don't know. I'm bored and have nothing to do today. If you want, yoy can come hang out with your knight!

Me: Sorry. I have plans. Maybe some other time?

Tj❤: Okay fine!

Me: Are you upset?

Tj❤: No! You are!

Me: Yes. I am upset we don't get to hang out, but I'm glad we get to later.

Tj❤: I guess you're right. You're so smart dorky!

Me: Bye Tj.

I placed my phone on my desk and fixed up my hair. I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. I got into the kitchen, but no breakfast.

"Where's breakfast?" I asked my mom.

"Just make some cereal, I'm too invested into this show." She exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and started to make cereal. Once I finished, I kissed my mom goodbye and headed outside where Bex, Andi, and Buffy were waiting in Bex's car.

"Cyrus, Ah! Come one you sloth!" Buffy explained. I got in the car, and we drove off.

"Are you guys excited?" Andi asked, turning towards us from the passenger seat.

"Of course!" I exclaimed. We stopped by Jonah's house, and waited for a couple a minutes until he got out of the house. Jonah sat right beside be, his arm touching mine. I would usally melt at this, but this time I felt uncomfortable. I shift in my seat, causing Jonah to look at me.

"Are you good?" He asked me.

"Yeah. Just a little squirmy, that's all." I replied, lying about why I shifted. The car ride ended after about 10 minutes, and I got out of the car quickly, trying to seperate myself from Jonah. We did I feel this way? Why am I uncomfortable. I try to ignore the question for now and focus on Andi and Buffy, who are eyeing a pair of shoes.

"These look so pretty! I want some!" Andi exclaimed.

"Those wouldn't be able to fit your monster feet." Buffy remarked.

"Hey!" Andi whined. I love my feiends. I stand beside Bex who looks lost in thought like me.

"Got something on your mind?" I asked her.

"Yeah. It sucks." Bex complained.

"It does." I muttered. Bex gave me a wishful look. Why do I have so much on my mind? My thoughts were cut short when Buffy started talking to me.

"Hey, I spotted Tj over there." She whispered to me. I looked across the mall, and there was Tj. I started walking towards him without thinking.

"Hey Tj." I exclaimed.

"Ahh! Dorky you're here!" Tj exclaimed trapping me in a hug. The hug lasted longer than a normal hug would.

"You can let go now." I stated.

"But I like you in my arms, you fit perfectly in them!" He exclaimed. I blushed at his comment. "See! There you go blushing over me!"

"For the last time, I'm not blushing over you!" I shouted.

"It doesn't matter to me. Anyway, why are you here dorky? Oh I know. You couldn't stray away from your loyal knight, so you did anything you could to be with him!" Tj exclaimed.

"No. Not really...but that's besides the point! I'm here with my friends! I exclaimed. Right as I said that, someone I was trying to avoid shows up.

"Hey Cyrus! Whose your friend?" Jonah asked.

"It doesn't matter." I blurted. Jonah frowned at my negative reponse.

"I'm Tj! Cyrus's friend." Tj stated. They shook hands. The awkwardness was so thick. I feel so anxious, but I don't know why.

"Well Tj, it was nice talking to you!" I say and leave.

"What....okay? Bye dorky!" He shouted. I could tell he was sad I left. I was sad I left too.

"Cyrus wait up!" Jonah yelled. Oh god. I turned around to a frowning Jonah.

"Can we talk Jonah?" I asked him. He nodded. I started walking to a nerby coffee place inside the mall, Jonah following me.

"Bex! Stop running! People fled the titanic slower! What time zone are you living in, pacific standard time!" I heard Andi yell.

I walked into the coffe place and took a seat, Jonah facing me.

"Why have you been acting weird lately Cy?" Jonah asked me. I chuckled at the nickname that use to make me blush. It doesn't anymore though. I'm...dorky now.

"For reasons I don't understand myself." I stated. We were both frowning. Why do I feel so awkward.

"I miss you." Jonah blurted.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean hanging out with you! We never do anymore." Jonah exclaimed.

"I miss that too Jonah. It's just
....Okay listen. You cannot tell anyone what I'm going to tell you! Not even Andi and Buffy!" I whispered yelled, even though there's no one around.

"Ok." Jonah responded. Why do I have the need to tell him. I do, and I don't know why. Jonah reached out and was picking something out my hair, and I exploded.

"I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE!" I yelled. Oh my god, that felt good to say.

"What?" Jonah asked confused.

"I mean, I used to have a big crush on you. Not anymore though. I sorta moved on." I stated. Jonah was confused at first, but then a look of realization took form on his face.

"Cyrus! You could of told me! I would've been perfectly fine with you being gay bro!" Jonah exclaimed with a smile. I smiled back. I'm glad he took it well, and didn't think I was weird.

"Thanks Jonah." I said. All that awkwardness went away, and was replaced with satisfaction.

"One more thing though! Do you have a crush on Tj?" Jonah asked. I slowly nodded my head, and Jonah's smile grew wider.

"I'm not sure if he likes me though. I mean, he carries me, protects me, looks out for me, makes me blush, laughs when I'm blushing, and also hugs me a lot!" I rambled.

"Calm down Cyrus. He likes you." Jonah exclaimed.

"You think so?"

"Yeah!" Jonah said smiling. I smiled. With that we went back to the group. Andi was trying to pull Bex out 9f a jacket she got stuck in, and Buffy was talking to a clerk who got the shoe size wrong.

"I'm so sorry!" The sales clerk shouted.

"As you should. Period, no tampon. As you should." Buffy snarled. I looked at Jonah, and he looked at me. We laughed at our silly friends. I'm glad I told Jonah. I just need to tell one more person!

"Cyrus. Calm down!" Jonah yelled.

"I can't calm down! I just lied to him! My one chance down the drain!" I snarled.

"Just call it off!"
