"Where's Shane?!?"
"He's on his way Karma, he's getting here as quickly as he can!"
Karma screamed in pain, "Ugh! It hurts!"
"Didn't you deliver Jamie?"
"Yes, but it wasn't like this."
"What you mean the no epidural?"
She glared at me, "If you can have two kids with no epidural, so can I."
Amy scoffed, "I didn't have a choice! I had Nova in the backseat of a car and I was too far along with Nathan."
"Okay Karma." Her doctor said as she came in, "We're going to have to start pushing. We can't hold it off any longer."
"Amy, call again!"
"He just texted me he's on the way up now."
She let out a breath in relief, "Thank God."
"Let's get in position then."
Karma gets comfortable as she grips Amy's hand tight.
"Give a good long push."
Karma squeezes Amy's hand even tighter and she lets out a screech.
"Karma that's a bit too tight!"
She smirks in the midst of labor, "Doesn't feel to good, does it?"
Amy scowled at her.
"Good girl, okay let's take a second."
Shane ran in tying his scrubs on. Karma holds out her other hand and he takes it.
"If you would've missed the birth of our child, I would have killed you." She says calmly with a smile on her face.
"And I an accessory to murder." Amy smiled.
Shane looks around the room to avoid eye contact, "Wait, where's your mother?"
"Her flight was canceled. She's very upset about it."
"If you would've had her back in home in Texas everyone could've been here. I'm surprised Lauren isn't here? Where is she?"
"In Cancun with our boss. She sent her love via text."
"Karma, it's time to push again. Give me another big one."
She squeezed both their hands this time and they yelled in pain.
"Don't be such babies!" Karma screamed.
She took another break and Amy wiped her head with a cold compress.
Karma began to cry, "I should've taken the drugs!"
"No time for regrets." Amy stifled a laugh as she spoke.
"Last one, big push!"
With one final push a baby girl emerged from Karma's uterus.
A crying baby.
"Shane! Shane! She's crying, she's okay!" Karma sobbed.
When the doctor handed her to Karma, they were all full of emotion.
"Wow, she looks so much like both of you." Amy wiped her face.
"Do you want to know what we named her?"
"A name? Already? I thought you were still deciding?"
"We came to a decision last night."
Shane cleared his throat, "Aunt Amy, we'd like you to meet Amelia Jamie Ashcroft-Harper."
