I slipped on my graduation robes feeling proud and accomplished. My graduation was hours away, but my mind couldn't be further from that. I can't stop thinking about Liam. Our relationship has been strained ever since I found out he's been cheating on me, it's in shambles and I don't know how to fix it.

I want to forgive, but how do you forgive someone for this?

"You look beautiful Amy."

I turned to see him standing at the doorway, dressed as well.

He looked really good, but when does he not?

"Thank you. You look nice as well."

"Umm, everyone is almost ready to go... so—

"Okay, I'll be right down."

He nods and turns to walk away.

"Do you want to see a marriage counselor?" I blurted aloud.

"Do you?"

"Do you?" I repeat his words.

"I want to do whatever you want to do. I love you and I want to make it right between us. So, if you think seeing a counselor will help, then I'm in."

I shrugged, "It wouldn't hurt..."

"Make the appointment and I'm there."

"This afternoon, 4 pm."

He chuckles, "You already made the appointment?"

I nod.

"What would you have done if I said no?"

I smiled, "Asking was a formality. I knew you wouldn't."

He walked closer, "That's because you know me so well."

There was a moment where I felt he was going to kiss me and I was going to let him, but that moment was interrupted.

"Oh, sorry. I was going to knock—

"It's fine Lauren."

"I'm going to go back downstairs."

When Liam excused himself, Lauren ran over to hug me. "I swear it felt like I wasn't going to get here in time!"

"Well, I'm glad you did."

"I would've been here last night if it wasn't for the delay. Unfortunately, I'll only be able to stay the weekend. Work is very demanding."

"Are you sure it's your WORK that's demanding?"

She rolls her eyes in a playful way.

"I honestly think I may be in love. I mean Zane is sweet, sexy, brilliant, and—

"Your boss?"

She makes a stale face at me. "He won't be for long. I'm going to be moving up in no time. And not because I'm sleeping with the guy who signs my paychecks, it's because of how hard I work my ass off at that office."

"Does Karma work her ass off too?

She stood still, unnerved. "W—What?"

"You heard me. Your slip when I last talked to you on the phone was enough for me to do a little digging. Karma flew in from New York not North Carolina. She's working with you at Posh, isn't she?"

"Okay yes, but you get why she didn't tell you, right?"

"I'm basically the reason why she got in to Duke and she didn't want to hurt my feelings."

"Exactly."

I smirk then frown, "Not good enough. See, she may have hurt my feelings, but lying is 10x's worse. Just ask Liam."
