I was so broken over you,

but life goes on, what can you do.

Lana

"Come on pumpkin, you ought to keep something down. Refusing to eat won't help will it?"

I skim through the short pile of prescriptions that dad handed me for Amelia and searched for the ones she needed immediately. Once I found the one, I would go and fetch her medicine right away.

"I want mommy." Came her little tired and whiny voice,

I glance over my shoulder to see Amelia sitting on the bed while Mason sat with her, feeding her dinner to her. He had a bowl of soup and a glass of water on the table. Amelia sat in front of him with a huge frown on her face, her eyes were extremely glossy as she stared at me with pity, her hands were rubbing her eyes as she refused another bite Mason offered.

I stood up and approached her before I joined them, I grabbed the small chair and placed it besides the bed before I took her tiny hands in mine.

"Lia darling, do you know how important is it for you to eat right now? You've only just woken up, you need to keep something down." I explained,

"Mommy...." She whined again,

I looked at Mason who had a small frown,
"Well, I think I have an idea." Mason suddenly chirped, shedding light to the situation. I give him a perplexed expression as I waited for his idea. "I'm going to take a little trip to the candy store right next to this very hospital, do you want anything Lana?" He asked me,

I widen my eyes for a second before I felt a nudge on my knee from Mason, indicating to play along with it.

"Uh.. sure. I want chocolates, a lot of them!" I said,

"I want sweeties!" Amelia warbled as she endeavoured to gain Mason's attention,

"Very well then, you need to eat something before you consume any sweeties, sugar." Mason said,

"Alright..." her voice was very feeble. I watched her swollen face twitch when she opened her mouth slowly as Mason brought the spoon to her mouth. My heart squeezed at the sight because I disliked the fact that Amelia was enduring something very difficult, her poor immune system couldn't fight it. Due to the allergic reaction, she also has an allergic angioedema where it causes the swelling of the skin. Although I was aware of what it was, I was still up all night studying more about it because I wanted Amelia to get the best treatment ever to get her away from all of this. I no longer can survive watching her like this.

She was prescribed with an adrenaline auto-injector so the next time something like of today happens, I would use the injection on her until the ambulance arrives. She was also prescribed with general dose of painkillers so right now, I was going to fetch her medication.

"Mommy, my tummy is hurting." She complained,

I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her to my embrace. I placed a kiss on her head as I rocked her for a while before I pulled away to see a small smile creep on her lips.
