Lana
"Lia darling, we're going to get late if you don't get down here already!"
I fumble through the kitchen as I prepare Amelia's packed lunch for the day ahead. I rush towards the couch and grab my coat before I force my arms through it, Amelia was supposed to be at kindergarten right now and I'm supposed to be at work. The crippling realisation dawned upon me when I panicked.
As I grab my bag as well as Amelia's belongings, I was interrupted by the door bell. My stomach did a small somersault as I glance at the door for a second before I walk towards it and open it. Ivan stood at the door with a smile on his face as soon as I opened the door.
"Good morning." He greets before he steps inside and hauls me into his embrace, my heart palpitates as I step back and wrap my arms around him before I settle into his touch.
"Hello." I greet with a small smile on my face as I clench my arms around him.
This was my daily routine for a few weeks now, Ivan and I would see each other everyday because we were working on our relationship, like we said we would. I was figuring him out again while he was proving to me that he really meant his words. Every time I see him, I'm always reminded that he wants this to work out and he didn't even have to tell me, I could tell through his actions.
We were taking things slow, I made it clear to him.
As for Stephan, I haven't seen him ever since that night.
"Ivan, I'm getting late for work. Amelia is late to kindergarten. We can have lunch together, text me-"
Ivan leans forward and kisses my lips and I was caught off guard. He had me hauled in his embrace and kissed me and I kissed him back. My heart skipped a beat when his hand slowly reached for my face and when it did, he left a soft caress, a comforting one. I close my eyes and submit to him because he was such a good kisser, I nearly forgot that.
We pull apart from each and breath, I gaze up at him and bite my lips as he smiles down at me.
"What was that for?" I mumble,
"Nothing. I really just wanted to kiss you."
A small giggle erupts from my left and immediately, my head was thrown towards the direction. Amelia stood a few distance away from us, she was standing at the bottom of the small steps while her hands were covering her mouth as she tried to stop herself from laughing, instead her shoulder curled up as she suppressed a giggle. She was watching us as Ivan had his arms around me while I had mine on his chest so when realisation settled upon me, I quickly push Ivan away from me.
"Amelia!" I call her, flustered as I have ever been. "You're already late for school! Let's get going."
"Mommy," she giggled, "I saw you kiss a boy."
My eyes widened as I freeze, my lips thinned together as I squeeze my eyes shut and begin to feel the embarrassment that punched me in the gut. I open my eyes and kneel down to help Amelia put her shoes on and while I did, she was still laughing and teasing me.
"Mommy kissed a boy! Mommy kissed a boy!" She continued but this time, she began to sing.
Amelia has never seen anything like this before, she never saw me kiss Stephan because I made sure she didn't. Right now, she was teasing me like she never did and when she continued, I heard a deep chuckle erupt from Ivan. I glance over my shoulder and watch him, his face was stretched up in a huge smile.
