A boy and a person
laid on a roof like ragged dolls
hoping to see the moon through the dusted clouds
yet not helping
as the smoke of their dimly lit cigarettes
scared the moon away.The person longed for the moon,
the stars, the entities that shine in the abyss of the universe.
They hoped to see the future
in the twinkling light of Sagittarius
as he danced someplace far.
They hoped with no hope
and much dream
for another life.The boy longed to jump from the moon,
travel like a shooting rocket
with his grave as a destination
and laugh the whole trip down.He hoped to see no future
because what future could handle him?
He dreamed of another life
where he could dance with the stars and marry the moon.Both stared at the wet ground below,
their erratic heartbeats and rushing thoughts
speeding a mile ahead.
All they could see was death
smiling like a summernight's dream,
wishing upon a sin;
and before they knew it they jumped,
trying to grasp onto thin air with their shaky hands.Oh! Death, take my spirit away
and leave my body to wander astray!A monstrous creature rose from the depth,
so vile that Sagittarius fled.
It took away their souls
and all they were was a spiraling hole;
drinking smoke and popping pills,
being disgusted with how it feels.They are living dead in a no-man's land,
minds consumed by their own hearts.
If you want to know how it feels,
wish death upon a struggling kid.
