Chapter 7

Louis

October 15, 2013

“Eleanor Jane Calder, get your straight little ass over to my house this instant.” I practically yell through the phone, desperate.

“Calm your tits, man. I’m getting in my car right now. You seem in need of consoling. I’ll be right there.”

“Thanks. Hurry. This is urgent.” I urge her on.

“Okay, unless you want me to never get there because I crash my car, then whatever. Bye.” She doesn’t give me time to reply before she’s hung up, leaving me hanging, nervously waiting for her to show up. Maybe not nervously, perhaps anxiously would fit better. I’m excited to tell her, yet hesitant all at once.

El finally arrives to my relief, and I immediately wrap her in a hug.

“What? What?” She cheers, dragging me to my own couch.

“He’s gay!” I yell, gripping her shoulders tightly.

“Who? Who’s gay?!” She replies just as loudly, trying to fake understanding.

“Harry! He came out to me, and described basically a feminine version of me as a start off cover up! I don’t know if that means me or not, but he’s gay!” I exclaim, hands shaking with excitement.

“What? He’s gay? You’re kidding, right?” I shake my head urgently, knees bobbing up and down.

“No! He’s gay!” I cheer, and El wraps me in a hug.

“This makes things easier, doesn’t it? He’s gay! All you’ve got to do now is, like, impress him! Oh my god! Louis, I’m so happy for you!” El almost yells.

“Sometimes I think you’re wanting us to be together more than me, myself.” I laugh hysterically.

“You know what? I’m not even going to deny it. But either way, let’s do something. Watch a movie.”

“Yeah, alright.” I agree. “But what’s with you and movies of late?”

“I don’t know.” She sighs.

“Ha,” I laugh, noticing how she clutches her stomach as she changes position. I should’ve known. “Sucks to be a girl.” I rise from the couch and head to the kitchen, soon returning with a water bottle and a banana. Having known El for a few years, I know what she’s like on her time of the month. Usually, she’s not moody, which I guess is a plus side.
