Via's POV

Once we arrived, we all headed upstairs with our bags. I went to MY room, the one I had spent all my life in. It felt good opening that door and seeing everything just as I had left it, all those memories flooding in. Seb's room is just across from mine, much to his disappointment. If he had it his way, we would be sharing a bed. I was unpacking my stuff and putting it in my closet when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in.", I said turning around, only to see my dad smiling at me.

"Feels good to be back, huh?"

 "Yes. Yes it does."

"I remember when you were a little girl and I would come and kiss you goodnight. Time flies..."

I step towards him and give him a hug.

"I miss you dad. I miss having someone there for me 24/7."

"You know you can call me anytime, right? And you have Seb now..."

"Yes, but it's not the same."

"I know, sweetheart, but one has to spread their wings at one point."

"I know... but thanks anyway. I owe you a lot."

 "Me too..."

"Hey, when will mom be here?"

"She'll be here any minute.", he says looking at his watch.

Less than a minute after my dad leaves my room, I hear another knock.

 "Yes?"

"Are you done unpacking yet?", Seb asks as he steps inside my room.

"No, but you're welcome to help."

 "Hummm... that would require payment."

               I slap his arm.

"Ouch! I'm serious.", he says pointing to his cheek.

I tiptoe and give him a sloppy kiss.

"Ewwww!"

"You didn't say what kind of kiss you wanted..."

"Fair enough. So, what can I do to help?"

"You can start by emptying my bags on the bed. Carefully."

While Seb does that, I finish putting what was already out in the closet.

"Hey, nice picture you have over there.", he said pointing to a frame on the desk, "Is that your birthmother?"

"Yes. It was my first figure skating competition. I was five. My parents had already split up, but they were there for me. Both of them."

Seb makes his way to me and hugs me from behind.

 "Do you miss her?"

"Yes, very much. I love my mom, but she was my mother too."

He lays his head on my shoulder.

"You can always talk to me if you ever miss her. I'm all ears.", he says while nudging my neck.

"Thank-"

I was interrupted my someone shouting my name.

"Via, Mami llegó!!!"

"Seb, my mom's here! Come!", I said grabbing his hand and running to the stairs.
