Julia followed Cade to a quiet corner of the library.
They stopped by the C section of the library, where there was a small window and a little table by the corner where they were standing.
"Cassandra Clare's books are here," Julia thought gleefully, her eyes searching the shelves for The Mortal Instruments series and The Infernal Devices series.
Cade caught her wondering eyes and grinned. "I'm guessing you're looking for Cassandra Clare's books," he said, now also searching for the books. "The book we need to search for is next to City of Bones."
Julia stopped searching for a moment and glanced over at Cade, confused. "Why City of Bones?" she asked.
He managed to tear his gaze away from the books and looked over at her. "Because the first ones who made the fandom world belonged to The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices fandom." His grey eyes gleamed and the centre of his eyes turned slightly purple.
As Julia looked back, her eyes fell upon the book. Blood rushed in her ears and she tapped Cade on the shoulder and pointed. His eyes lit up as he reached for the book next to it. Julia couldn't read the title as Cade was blocking the view, but she managed to catch a glimpse of green on the cover. He turned to face her, the book in his hands. A giddy expression coloured his face. Julia saw that the cover was indeed green. It was fully green, no title at all. She looked up at Cade, a confused expression masking her face.
"What is this book?" She asked, tone wavering a bit.
He looked at her from under his lashes. "It's the Mulitfandom book. There is one in every library or bookstore. Only those who are in the fandoms can see it, and only those who are a part of the fandom world can enter it."
"So technically, I could have seen this book, but can't actually read its content or enter the fandom world without you?" Julia half asked, half confirming.
Cade nodded. "So do you want to see what the illiterate people are missing out on?" He asked jokingly.
Julia returned the grin and repiled, "No one can hold me back, what kind of a fangirl would I be if I didn't want to go visit a fandom world?"
"Good point you raised right there," Cade stated, chuckling lightly.
He opened the book and flipped to the tenth page. He held it up so both of them could see. "Stare into the page on the right and after a few seconds you'll see where we're going."
Julia obeyed and stared into the book. At first it was just a blank page, but after like what seemed like three seconds, a bright blue sky appeared, followed by a meadow, filled with all sorts of flowers and trees. The scenery then changed to a birds eye view of the world and Julia gasped. It was designed like a maze, except where the walls should be, there were fandom headquarters instead. They were spread quite apart, giving each fandom a great distance between each other. There were so many fandoms that when Julia tried to count them all, her vision blurred and she became dizzy.
"Is this the place where we're going to?" She asked, her words breathy, suddenly awestruck and amazed by the beauty of the whole place.
"Yup," Cade confirmed, also taking in the beautiful scenery. "It's quite beautiful isn't it?"
"Are you kidding? I could say that it's prettier than the castle of Illéa!" She exclaimed, delighted.
Cade raised his eyebrows. "Watch what you say, the royal family of The Selection fandom won't be happy at that comment," he grinned. "Now reach your hand into the page."
Julia whipped her head up at him. "What? You mean like how Clary got the Mortal Cup out of the Tarot cards?"
"Exactly like how she got the Cup out of the Tarot cards," he confirmed, reaching his hand into the page. "See? Now put your hand in and I'll transport us into the fandom world." His hands went through the paper, the image behind it rippled slightly.
Julia was astonished. Never in her life had she expected this moment. She hesitated, but soon gave in to Cade's urging gaze. She sighed and reached her hand forward and slowly, her fingers slipped through the paper. Suddenly a bright flash of light came from the paper and the world tipped upside down.
When Julia opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was grass. It was soft under her hands and it smelt a bit like Cade, except without the windblown scent. She felt nauseous as her insides churned within her. She looked up to find Cade's worried expression staring down at her. He offered her a hand, but she waved it away as she slowly began to stand up. She peeked over his shoulder to see the beautiful scenery he showed her in the book. Instead of multiple buildings, she found one in front of her. It was grand and gleamed magnificently under the sunlight. It looked very regal and majestic compared to everything else around it.
"This is the Mulitfandom Headquarters," Cade said, his voice had a hint of wonder behind it, even though it was clear this wasn't his first time arriving, he was still struck by it's beauty, and Julia felt the same.
