Note: I would suggest listening to "Before the Storm" by Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus(old Miley) while reading this chapter (It's actually not a bad song tbh) because it fits /very/ well with this chapter.

He shouted.

Cried out.

Yelled.

Slammed his fist against the rocky pavement repetitively, until the skin was scratched raw.

Julia's eyes were spilling hot tears onto her cheeks, dampening her face before she even knew she was crying.

"Cade, please," Julia whispered shakily. "Calm down,"

But she knew, she knew there was no way he would. Julia didn't expect him to either, because she knew that she, herself, can't even calm down, even though she's only known Zoe for a short amount of time.

Cade, he knew her long before he met Julia.

And that's what made it hard to let go.

"It's hard to let go of things that you never really had," Julia thought to herself. "But when you do, everything might just be a little easier."

She was lying to herself. Nothing will be okay, even if they did let go. They've chosen their path, now they have to carry on with it.

Cade loosened his grasp on the crumpled note, and so it fluttered out of his reach.

Julia grabbed it as it flew towards her.

She unravelled the little bit of paper and read.

"I can't handle this life, this world anymore." It had said.

Julia handed the note back to Cade. It's the only thing he had left of Zoe.

Just then, the door to the car slammed shut.

Cade's head snapped up immediately, his silver eyes narrowed.

The man started to walk away at an alarmingly rapid speed. Julia got up, followed by Cade.

Cade pushed past Julia and broke into a sprint, trying to catch up to the man. The man glanced over his shoulder, fear on his face, then disappeared with a loud crack.

Julia gasped. Before he disappeared, she caught sight of a bright green book in his hand.

"What was that"?" Cade asked angrily, also confused.

"He disapparated." Julia stated. "He's a part of the Fandoms. Which means he wasn't here by accident."

"Yeah but miss Johnson-"

"Miss Johnson was different," Julia snapped. She was losing her patience, irritated and frustrated by the fact that they hadn't caught the murderer.

"We need to get back to the fandoms." Cade said shortly.

"But what about Zoe?" Julia asked, waving towards the fragile body.

"The mortals will deal with her. She's not a part of the Fandoms anymore, remember?" Cade reminded her bitterly.

"Oh. Yeah, that's right," Julia hung her head.

Cade brought out the green book from his pocket again. "Let's go."

Julia nodded and dove into the book with Cade.

The moment her body hit the firm ground of the Fandoms, a wave of nausea struck her. She shook violently, her head feeling too light and airy. Julia shook her head, trying to get the feeling out of her system.
