Hunter laid the violin back into its case and sat down on Julia's bed.
"So what do you think of the palace?" He asked.
Julia swung a leg around on her piano stool so she was facing Hunter. "It's very....majestic. And beautiful. Beautifully majestic." She decided to say. "I do find the garden quite attractive and very elegant. And the food is splendid." She commented.
Julia had no idea where all of the fancy words had came from, and how her language had become like that. Judging from the look in Hunter's eyes, she looked quite horrified at the words that just came out of her mouth. He laughed, his eyes full of amusement.
"I'm guessing you don't normally speak like that," He chuckled. "Your language is influenced by the fandom you're in." He explained.
Julia sighed of relief. "So I can speak normally once I leave this fandom?" She asked jokingly.
"Of course," Hunter replied, a smile tugging on his lips.
He stood up, walking over to her. He held out his hand. Julia took it and stood up. He lead her over to the balcony window and opened the doors. They walked out into the evening air. The breeze was gentle against their skin and the birds fluttered about, from tree to tree. The evening scent smelt like Cade, and Julia instantly felt a pang inside her chest. The sun was just setting around them, shining a warm orange glow on the top of the trees. The sky was already darkening, but the clouds were still a pinky-orangy colour, fluffy and scattered across the evening sky.
"Wait, the sun had already set in the fandom that I just came from, why is it still setting now?" Julia asked, her brows knitting together.
"The times are slightly different in every fandom. Normally they're just a few minutes or and hour apart. The most is three hours apart." Hunter replied, leaning over the balcony.
Julia went to stand next to him, also leaning over. The wind rustled her dress slightly, making her seem like one of the trees or bushes.
"That's a every beautiful dress by the way, I think the blue and greens suit you." He complimented.
Julia blushed a little. "Thanks, my maids picked it for me."
"You have quite talented maids. They seem to have an eye for working out the perfect outfit for everyone." Hunter commented.
Julia raised an eyebrow, turning to see him. "And how do you know that?" She asked.
"They used to be my maids when I was younger." Hunter said, smiling. "Everyone commented on how well they paired up my clothing and prepared me for big events. We organized them to be your maids because you were a 2 and your mother was Celeste, we thought you would want the best of the best." He seemed sheepish.
Julia laughed gently. "Well it turns out that I was completely new to this whole fandoms being real thing and had no idea that I was a 2 and was Celeste's daughter until Camille told me at dinner." She said, looking back over the balcony. The sun just peeked out from above the trees.
"Wait, you didn't know that your mother was Celeste?" Hunter asked incredulously.
"Not at all," Julia laughed again at Hunter's expression. "I'm a Multifangirl, I've spent my last day moving from fandom to fandom, but this is the first time I've actually been to The Selection fandom." Julia said.
"Oh," Hunter seemed to be a little surprised. "Which fandom were you in before you came into this one?" He asked, turning towards her, moving slightly closer.
"I was in the Percy Jackson fandom. It happens to be just though the bushes over there," Julia pointed to the east side of the garden, where there was a large patch of shrubbery.
"Are things very different there?" He asked.
Julia nodded. "I didn't have to wear dresses or heels that would break my ankles just taking a step with them, I also don't have people washing me and dressing me either," Julia grinned.
Hunter laughed, tilting his head back. When he looked back at her, his creamy blonde hair flopped in front of his eyes, but he brushed it aside.
"Is it possible for me to visit the other fandoms again?" Julia asked quietly.
Hunter drew in a deep breath. "Well you are allowed to, as long as you belong to other fandoms. But if you leave, you have one week at the maximum out of the selection. If you leave for longer than one week, then I would be forced to eliminate you, but for some cases, I can keep those who I wish, even if they go over the max. And if they come back after the time was up but they didn't know they were eliminated, if they can't enter the palace, then that's how they know they've been eliminated. But, I can invite any of those who are eliminated that way, back." He said.
"How long do we have to stay here for until our next trip out?" Julia pressed.
"Five to seven days," Hunter replied.
"Is it possible for me to leave tomorrow evening?" Julia asked, turning to face him.
Hurt was shown visibly in Hunter's eyes and his expression. "If that is what you wish, my dear, then that would be what you get. Just be aware that I will be eliminating people soon." He said, covering up his emotions.
Julia felt terrible for doing this to Hunter. He didn't deserve this, and she hadn't meant to hurt him. "I'm sorry," Julia whispered, turning away. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just wanted to see some people again."
Hunter looked up from under his lashes. "No, it's okay. Don't be sorry, you should be able to go where you want."
Julia felt his presence beside her and turned around. She was met by his eyes. They were dark blue. Blue like the sky on a fine night. Little veins ran through his iris, looking like twinkling stars in the dark. Even though his eyes were the same colour as the sky tonight, his eyes seemed to be more mesmerizing, magnetic and alluring. Julia sensed his closeness, but pushed down any sign of anxiety. His scent wafted up Julia's nose. The scent was enticing and celestial. He looked deep into Julia's eyes, and she was both fascinated and captivated by his gaze.
He slid his hand around to the small of her back. Julia's breaths became hitched and breathy. Her heart was fluttering in her chest, flailing around. He dipped his head, closing the distance between them. Julia's eyelid fluttered shut and she gasped a little. He coaxed her lips open, and she let him. Their kiss started off as a sweet gentle kiss, but it grew more urgent and passionate as their tongues entwined. Hunter was riveting, compelling, ravishing and irresistible. Occasionally they would both come up for a ragged breath, then their flushed and feverish lips would collide again. Hunter backed her up to the railing of the balcony and Julia closed up any gaps that they had left. Their kiss grew more desperate. More intense and more urgent. It was as if there was this burning fire within the both of them, raging to its peak. It grew into a fierce, blazing wild fire. Hunter held her tighter in his arms and Julia wrapped her arms around his neck. She ran a hand through his oh-so-soft hair and he groaned lightly against her lips. At this moment in time, he had won her over completely. The fiery passion for Hunter burned within her. But a part of her also longed for Cade's touch. A part of her kissed Hunter so she could try to forget Cade. Julia was kissing Hunter like there was no tomorrow, like it was her last night alive. She felt tears burning at the back of her eyes. As she gasped for air, she pulled back, away from Hunter's grip. He held Julia's hand in his and kissed it.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning, my dear. And if you wish to visit the other fandoms, you are welcome to, but just remember the time limit." Hunter said softly, looking up from beneath his dark lashes.
He walked away from Julia, leaving her on her balcony, gasping for air, her breaths ragged and hitched. She closed her eyes, sliding down on to the ground against the wall, a single warm tear rolling down her cheek. The cold night breeze flew around Julia, its cold touch dragging across her flushed skin. Her lips and hand tingled where Hunter had kissed her. Julia just spent the night sitting in a huddled pile on the floor of her balcony, her hair blowing around messily, flowing in the direction the wind blew.
