"Will I be able to meet more of them?" Julia asked in awe.
Cade, who was wolfing down his sandwich, looked up at her confused.
"You know, the fictional characters." Julia explained.
"Oh yeah, of course. This is the Fandoms, what would we be without fictional characters?" Cade replied, his tone implying that Julia should already know this.
Julia sat up straighter, eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Do you think more will come to our table right now?" She asked, unable to keep still.
Cade tapped his chin, "Well maybe, if we're eating their food then yeah I guess they might." He shrugged.
"So you're saying someone like Minho or Thomas could just walk up to us right now?!" Julia asked excitedly.
"Actually yes. Newt might too," He smiled.
"Was that supposed to be sarcasm? He's dead isn't he?" Julia asked, her insides suddenly feeling heavy at the thought of Newt.
"No, no, no." Cade dismissed that thought with a wave. "Dead characters aren't dead here. They may be dead in the books, but here, they live forever." Cade explained, his grey eyes bright and shining.
Julia almost choked at the news. "So Will Herondale is alive?"
Cade nodded and went back to eating his sandwich.
"And Raphael?"
Another nod.
"Teresa?"
A nod.
"Augustus?"
"Yup."
"Celeste?"
"I don't know who she is, but she's probably alive."
The list went on and on, and every time, Cade nodded, replied with a yes or said he didn't know who they were.
"Do you want me to show you around the different fandoms?" Cade asked, after he finished his lunch.
Julia looked at her own lunch that was left untouched after Prince Maxon's arrival.
"Sure," she replied eagerly, getting up as Cade did.
He lead her downstairs and away from the headquarters. They walked to the closest building to the left. It was hardly a building actually. The walls surrounding it was made of grey concrete stone and it was covered with ivy.
Julia gasped in recognition.
"It's The Maze Runner fandom," Cade said, confirming Julia's guess.
Julia ran up to touch the walls. "It looks just as I had imagined it," She whispered.
"I'll take you inside, come on." Cade's grey eyes twinkled in the shadows.
When they entered the Glade, people turned to stare. Most of them were boys, there were some girls. It was truly a wonderful sight. The grass was as green as ever, everything was in order and just as how it was described in the books by James Dashner.
A voice from behind the crowd yelled "Come on, get back to work, if you still want to eat the bloody food that Frypan makes then hurry up!"
Julia's ears perked up at that voice immediately. It was so familiar. The accent reminded her of the movie trailers. It was Newt. She immediately started to jump up and down, unable to contain the excitement. Her bubble of calm had burst. The second fictional character that she met had just made her day.
