Ezra's P.O.V

"What?!" I exclaimed. The imperial pressed the button and the mirror returned, blocking my view of Kanan.

"Let him go or I swear..."

"Or what? You going to use your pathetic powers on me?" He questioned. I took in a deep breath before releasing it to calm down. I wouldn't mind using my now controlled destructive power on this guy.

Yet, how well can I control it since this would be the first time without the Fury breathing down my shoulder. I don't want to hurt Kanan even more than he is.

"Are you...afraid of the Infected?" The imperial asked. I growled.

"No, but you should be afraid of me once I get out of these restraints," I spat. He blankly hummed at my answer before leaving then the sound of electrical zaps and screaming came from the other side of the wall.

"NO! STOP!" I begged, feeling useless being locked up. I am weak. I am so weak. Why do I let everyone I care about get hurt? Why is my life so messed up?!

The screams and electrical zaps went silent and replaced with my silent quakes, holding back a sob. This is all my fault.

   My fault.

Zeb's P.O.V

"Come on, Sabine. We need to get back to base before we get into trouble," I said, trying to convince the teen back to the base.

"I am not going to sit around like a duck and do nothing! I joined the rebels to do something and sitting around is not on the agenda," she snapped, burning anything that got in her way. I trailed behind her, avoiding the smoking burn marks on the ground.

"Doing before thinking isn't any smarter. What were you planning to accomplish in the middle of this rubbish?" I asked, throwing my arms in the air and trying to get the point.

At this moment, it feels like we are just getting ourselves lost. There may not be any Infected out and about but that doesn't mean there isn't anything else in these grime woods.

"We can search for...something like a clue or a hint," Sabine persuaded, burning a shriveled up bush. I raised and eyebrow before sighs and rubbing my eyes from sleep.

"Kid, If you really are looking for some kind of blasted hint then don't you think burning everything is not a good idea?" I argued with the teen. She huffed, crossing her arms and poured a bit like a child.

"It's better being out here than locked away in that place," she spat before continuing to walk onwards. I rolled my eyes before hearing something fast run behind me in the thicket. I could feel the slight breeze from it and felt something watching us.

"Uh...Sabine," I called, cautiously backing up into something big. It breathed down my neck and slobbered on my shoulder, lowly purring. I was frozen on spot, not sure what to do.

I knew the thing behind me was none other than an Infected.

"Karabast," I cursed, quietly.

"Zeb, duck!" I heard Sabine yell then a fireball came heralding from the side. I quickly got to the floor as the Infected screeched and ran away. The graffiti artist ran over and helped me to up off the ground.

"WHERE—WHAT?! HOW IN THE BLAZING-" Sabine yelled, gibberish and stomped around frustrated. I was thinking the same thing she was.

Where did the Infected come from? Didn't they all disappear then suddenly one pops up! What was going on?

"We should head back to base," I said guiding the hot-headed teen who willingly agreed. We carefully returned to base, not sure when the next Infected would pop up.

"Don't you think that Infected was odd looking?" Sabine asked.

"Oh sorry, didn't get a chance to look at it when my life was totally not just in danger," I sarcastically replied.

"I'm serious," she said, pausing for a moment making me stop as well.

"What do you mean?" I asked, irritated that we stopped.

"That Infected..." she began explaining, "it...it was a mixture of green and gray. It also seemed like less monster-like and more sad..."

"You're not making any sense," I said, crossing my arms.

"I don't know...it was just weird and unlike an actual Infected. I could...feel it in a way," she tried to explain, terribly.

"Let's just get back to base and tell Ahsoka and Hera about this," I ushered the girl forward.

"Or maybe you can stay and play with us."

Hera's P.O.V

I stayed by Tua's side after the rebels cremated Rey's body. I held her the whole time as she cried for the loss of her daughter. It broke my heart into a million pieces.

I wouldn't know what to do if I lost Sabine or Ezra. It would be very devastating but continue to fight to make sure they didn't die without a loss cause. Yet, it was a haunting thought and knew Tua would forever live with this scar.

We all have our scars and the ones that hide them are the ones who hurt the most. From what I hear, Tua has been neutral with emotions ever since Cornelius found her. He even seemed surprised when his assistant showed a flicker of emotion after something that happened on their way here.

We were all asking the same question though. What happened? The rebel medics couldn't find what was wrong with Rey. She was completely healthy but the facts were clear as day, she looked sickly pale. The small girl was practically a walking corpse that could drop dead any minute.

It was a mystery that is still trying to be solved over the loss of the youth.

I managed to get Tua to fall asleep on her cot when a light knock came on the door.

"Come in," I called, quietly to not disturb the sleeping woman. The door opened, letting in a stream of light in the dark room, to reveal Ahsoka drinking in the scene. I gestured for her that it was okay to enter. The alien woman stepped in then knelt down next to me.

"Where are Zeb and Sabine? I can't find them anywhere and the sun is starting the set," Ahsoka asked. I raised an eyebrow then tried to think of any ideas where they could be.

"Did you search the whole base?" I questioned.

"Well, I wouldn't be here to ask if I didn't, now would I?" She spoke, sarcastically. I was about the reply when the alarms began to go off, lighting the room red.
