Kanan's P.O.V

I was losing blood fast.

My head was spinning like crazy.

Everything was happening in slow motion and sounded like an echo to my ears.

Yet, through the struggles, I got to my feet and leaned heavily on the wall for support. My free hand clutched my wound as I peeked around the corner at the battle.

I was met with a disastrous mess.

Things tossed, turned, or broken. Bodies and blood decorating the walls and floors. Small fires and smoke filling the room. Gunshots and screaming filling the air. I could see Zeb protecting a traumatized looking Sabine from whatever Troopers that still had some fight left. Then there was Ezra in a struggle with his mind and a smiling demon watching him. Hera was no where in sight, concerning me.

Chaos couldn't describe the scene in front of me.

I grunted when a sudden pain began to throb from my wound. I took some deep breaths before stumbling into the war zone, sticking to the shadows as to not get shot at. Everyone in the room seemed to be focused on different people which made me a non-target.

I had to get to Ezra and help him before the Soul Eater could. Ezra was our last chance at winning against the Empire and getting rid of all the evils on this Earth that still taint these grounds.

I almost tripped over something but was able to regain my balance. My green eyes looked down to see a dead Trooper's arm flailed out and in his hand was a gun. Without thinking twice, I picked up the weapon and slowly made my way over to the battle with Ezra and the Soul Eater.

Burning pain repeatedly shot through my wound, making me bite down on my lip to stay quiet. Everything was depending on me to make this shot and distract that demon long enough to give Ezra time to fight again.

Ezra grunted, clawing at his head and falling onto his shaking knees. The Soul Eater snickered and cackled like something you see in a horror film. Yet, this was all real. Everything was happening and everything was falling apart before my eyes.

I have one chance to by Ezra time. One chance only to save the world from this monster born from the depths of evil itself.

   One shot.

I ducked behind a couch that was close enough to get a good shot. Taking a deep breath in, I peeked over the torn cushion then aimed the gun at the child.

   One shot. Just one.

This shot has to count. If I missed and died from failure, that will weigh down on my soul for the rest of eternity. Every living thing that's still alive and thriving will be dead. This planet will be dead.

Closing my left eye, I rested my finger on the trigger and the barrel pointed at its target. Sweat began to slid down my head and heart pounded from the tension. This was it.

It all came down to this.

I aimed until finding where I wanted the bullet to go and pulled the trigger.

Zeb's P.O.V

An inhuman scream stopped the firing between the rebels and Imperials. The little monster was holding his stomach as an acid green substance spilled between his fingers.

This gave Ezra a chance to attack, sending vines with thrones and wrapping around the Soul Eater. This gave me a chance to look at Sabine while the other rebel's snapped out of their shock and continued to fight.

Sabine was blankly staring at a wall in the same fetal position. Her eyes were dull, and when I touched her arm, she was cold. She didn't even flinch when my hands brushed her skin. Was she here or someplace else?

"Sabine," I called, shaking the teen a bit. The artist jumped a bit then looked over at me. She still seemed troubled but was able to respond, "Y-Yeah? Wait, what's going on?"

"Are you okay?" I asked, knowing how dumb of a question that was. Yet, I wanted to be sure Sabine was able to hold off longer until this fight is over. Also, I had to leave her side to go and help Kanan out of that dangerous situation he always throws himself in.

"I...I think so," she answered, unsure.

"Close enough," I muttered before saying, "I'll be right back, but I need your help to cover me when I do return. Can you do that?" Sabine put on a determined face and gave a single nod. I smirked before looking out at the battle field.

We gained the upper hand over the Imperials. We were winning so far. I saw an opportunity to mad dash over the Kanan's area. Without a second thought, I leaped over our cover and charged into the danger.

Hera's P.O. V

I was leaned up against the wall as Ashoka sat nearby. The other rebels went ahead to help the others fight while I recovered. Yet, I wanted to do desperately get up and follow. I wanted to help fight for our freedom but was forced to stay.

"How are you still alive?" I asked Ashoka, not wanting to just sit in silence. The alien looked over at me then straight forward.

"After I was captured, they were going to use me as bait and tried to get information. Then, you guys came, and I was able to escape," Ashoka explained. I nodded.

"Are you okay? They probably tortured you for information," I asked, hesitantly. This subject could be very sensitive to a lot of people, but I just had to know. She is one of my closest friends. I would hate to see her in any sort of pain.

"I am thanks to all of you," she said. I noticed she hovered hand over her ribs before pulling away. I frowned at the sight but didn't say anything.

"Okay, but if there's anything, just holler," I replied, giving her a small smile. She returned the smile and nodded.

Then, the silence between us had returned.
