Violet and I spent the next month or so being friends. And it was good. Well, as good as being friends with the girl I was quickly falling for could be. And anyway, her and Calum were really happy together. I could see it when I watched her at lunch. Although Violet and I had become really close over the last few weeks, I refused to sit with her and her friends, because I could honestly just tell that they did not want me around. Especially Michael (who's now had bright red hair.) We met outside the hotel to smoke and talk every night, well, morning, and then went to the same café to get coffee before going back home.

"What are you thinking about?" Violet asked softly from beside me, bumping my upper arm with her shoulder. We were sitting on the sofa in her living room, watching Adventure Time. Her parents were at work and Cassie was sitting next to us on a different seat, focusing on the television.

I shrugged. "Nothing, really."

"I'm going round to Calum's soon. I should probably put on some makeup or something." She sighed, leaning her head of my shoulder. I sucked in a breath. Friends.

"Why do you need to put makeup on to see Calum? You basically never wear makeup around me." I chuckled, looking down at her. She really was beautiful. I felt her soft eyelashes eyelashes flutter against my bare shoulder.

"Yeah, but you're you. I feel more comfortable around you." She lifted her head from my shoulder to smile at me. I definitely wanted to kiss her, but I couldn't, so I avoided eye contact with her and instead made it with Cassie. She had a hint of a frown on her face as she looked at her sister and I tangled together on the sofa.

"Okay, go get ready to see your boyfriend." I laughed awkwardly, pushing Violet off of me lightly. She stood from the sofa, pulling me up with her. She dragged me behind her as she walked up the stairs. I flopped down onto her bed as she approached her dresser, beginning to apply some makeup.

"What are your plans with Calum tonight?" I asked, even though I didn't really want to talk to Violet about her fucking boyfriend.

She turned around to face me, and she laughed. "What do you think we do when I go round to his house?"

"Wow. Okay. Thanks." I said, covering my ears and squeezing my eyes shut. I was acting like I was pretending to be grossed out, but I honestly didn't want to hear that.

"Aw, Lukey. You're so cute." Violet giggled as she dived onto her bed to tackle me. We did this a lot, and I would always win because I knew the ticklish spot on her waist. I placed my hands under her loose grey t-shirt to tickle her soft skin. Violet saw this as a dumb game, but this was honestly just an excuse for me to touch her.

"Luke!" She shrieked, jumping off me and returning to her dresser.

We sat in silence while she did her makeup, I decided to text Ashton.
