Violet Walker lived a reasonably comfortable life, until her parents decided to ship the whole family off to Nepal from their home in New York. Violet's parents were travel photographers, and they took their job seriously. They took life seriously. After a year of homeschooling in Asia, Violet returned to public school in New York. Her mind was troubled with questions about her old friends; would they let her back into their group? Would they even remember her?
Luke Hemmings had a scarring experience with his ex-girlfriend, who he loved with every single part of him. When his mother was offered a job as a math teacher at a high school in New York, they took it. Luke just wanted to get away from the memories that his home in Sydney reminded him of everyday and his family knew that. In New York, Luke found that he didn't really fit in with the kids at his school, his only friend being a mysterious guy who had graduated a couple of years earlier.
okay this was sort of a brief introduction of the two main characters, just so you kind of get to know their backgrounds a little. the point of views in this book are going to alternate between violet and luke; violet one chapter, luke the next and so on. you will find out more about the characters in the upcoming chapters and i really hope you like this book! :-)
