I watched Joshua walk in arrogantly, disinterest was boldly written on his face. He was dressed all black and he looked more dangerous in it. For seconds, he maintained eye contact me before hesitantly tearing his gaze.
"Mr Joshua Babalola, do you promise to speak nothing but the truth before this gathering today?" Dami asked, suddenly wearing a tough face.
Josh looked around the hall before resting his gaze on me again. "In favourable situations, yes. I can't guarantee the other way round."
"Do you think this is some kind of joke?" Dami almost shouted.
"Is that the first question?"
I almost laughed out loud again but decided against it. He was giving Dami a hard time already.
Dami swallowed. "On September 6, you drove Karleen and Jummy to a place. Yes or no?"
He rubbed his chin. "Yes."
"Where was it?"
"I don't know."
Dami frowned. "Why?"
"We had a disagreement on the way. They called another guy so I just left."
"Do you-"
He cut her short. "I don't know the driver."
"Don't you think the disagreement was sudden and suspicious? Maybe Karleen had a plan?"
He looked at me again. His voice softened. "Everything about her is sudden and suspicious. She always had plans too."
Dami was frustrated. "But Sonia here said tha-"
He hissed and shot Sonia a disgusting look. "Can't you tell that this one is confused?"
Dami sighed. "We appreciate the presence of the witnesses. You can now leave so we'll determine the direction of this case."
I didn't raise my head until I heard a masculine voice. He seemed to be the head of the NAVE court.
"Good afternoon everyone. After painstakingly listening to the accused and the witnesses, we've decided to adjourn this case for two weeks to ensure that we investigate properly before deciding."

"Aren't you going home?" Kath offered me a hand.I smiled. "Are they through with the meeting?"
Our parents were having a meeting."Not yet. Why?" She sat on the rock beside me.
I got up. "I have somewhere to go."
She was shouting some words but I kept on moving in the direction of the place I saw them take Sonia and Josh. There were many men in security uniforms guarding the place.
I steeled myself and walked over to one one them. "Please, can I see Sonia?"
He steadied his gun.
"I really need to see her an-"
He placed his finger on the trigger.
"I'm Karleen Coker. The accused. I really need to see her an-"
"Why did you let her in here?!" A man thundered from behind.
"I was about to do something, Sir."
I looked back. "Detective Dave? I'm sorry for-"
"Take her to my office."
I still remembered Detective Dave from the first questioning. A chill ran across my spine as the guard dragged me.
