THE FACTS.

"Nowhere? " Jolade asked, her drown deepened.

My fingers clung to the hem of my dress as I tried to speak. "yes. Nowhere."

Dunke spoke up. " Ty, get our note pads and I-pads."

The boyish figure nodded and scurried to a corner of the room where a brown leathered bag sat proudly on a table. He wheeled the table over to the meeting table and placed an I pad, a big note pad and a blue black cased pen on each table. All the items had inscriptions of the NAVE.

"can you define 'nowhere'? " Sheila asked, fiddling with her pen." Dunke, send the earlier investigations across the table, " she added quickly and Dunke nodded.

Confusion." how? "

Adamson answered me." explain everything from when you woke," he said, his accent was deeply affected with Hausa.

He was, I mused, the complete antithesis of Mr Daniel. Daniel, young, fresh, enthusiastic, correct and immaculately dressed, and Adamson, dried-up, lean, stringy, immensely tough and with an almost pathological aversion to spit and polish.

Nowhere... It began nowhere.

Dumb. I looked down at my still trembling fingers. This would not be easy. What am I supposed to say?

"Karleen, we'll be recording as well as documenting everything that happens here. Therefore, we'll need a much detailed, vivid and truthful explanation here," Princess spoke, her voice held much empathy and her eyes radiated understanding.

I can do this. With or without F. I was starting to doubt the existence of F anyway, perhaps it was just my imagination.

I looked up, steeling myself as I tried to remember the day I had woken up... There.

"So I woke up. It was nowhere. No walls. No floor. No ceiling. Trees... Yeah there were trees. I was actually resting against one... No, there was a room. No... It was a room with trees... "

I opened my eyes and sighed. Nonsense. What was in my head was muddled up.
" Trees inside a house? Dunke, show us the front view, side view and interior of the house the body was found in."

Dunke nodded at Sheila and few seconds later, the picture popped on the screen.

It was an uncompleted storey building. A small room popped up again.

"This room is located at the west wing of the house. 36 degrees north west . Her body was found at this spot, from the window it's 52 degrees, angle 105."

Wow. She zoomed in the spot.  "The body was found here inside a black bag,"  Dunke continued encircling the spot with her fingers.

"No, it wasn't a room. Believe me, it wasn't, " I shook my head.

Jolade raised her brows." do you have facts? How the place looked like? I don't think we should be confused about this," she got up and walked over to the screen.

She slid the screen to the left and the earlier picture popped on. "they went for shopping, went missing... together. Five days later, Karleen here shows up pretty messed up while Jumoke's body was found lifeless..."  she waited for seconds, letting the weight of her words rest on the party before continuing. "what else do we need? It's either Karleen did the killing... Or, she leads us to the killer,"  the stress she placed on 'killer' made my stomach turn.

As bad as I hated her words, they were true. My whole body trembled and I sat on my hands. They wouldn't see that I'm afraid. I won't give them that satisfaction. No.

Princess looked up and smiled at me, making eye contact.  "True. But how can she when she has no memories," she punched her iPad and some pictures appeared on the large screen.

"The results of the health assessment... Karleen wasn't drugged. Doctor Ehai concluded that it must be memory repression caused by shock. And according to her, it's a 50-50 chance. She may or may not regain her memories," her voice was firm and she maintained eye contact with me, piercing into my soul.

Adamson shook his head head, he was probably pondering on an idea. "must we be limited to her memories?"

Sheila sighed deeply. "in this case, we are. I don't see this as just a murder case," she narrowed her eyes before continuing. "and I also don't want us to as a normal murder case. It-"

At that point, the door opened slowly cutting her short and everyone's eyes fixated on the door. A young woman dressed in a beige suit entered first.

"The D.G has arrived!" she announced and they all stood up, I copied.

The D.G walked in. He was tall, broad shouldered and heavily built. He wore a red polo shirt, black jeans and a white tennis. His skin was a shiny black and his face had been beautifully sculptured by the god of beauty himself.
"I apologize for not being here earlier. Had to work out a bit, "his thick voice filled the room as Dunke led him to his seat.

That voice. It sounded so familiar, sending a chill across my spines and for seconds, it echoed in my brains. He was familiar yet I couldn't remember him.

The D.G sat and his eyes scanned the room, searching for the unknown before his eyes fell on me. I panicked.

"Where is he?" he asked no one in particular, but the look on their faces told me they all knew who he was talking about.

"Ty, bring him," Dunke said. Her was sharp and firm and for the first time, her fake smile disappeared.

I could almost touch the tension that was already building in the room.

Who was he?

I finally got my answers when Ty walked in. Of course he wasn't alone. Behind him was HE. HE was the guy I was almost trusting, the supposed friend.

He was Joshua!
