I missed writing Monito so much. 😢 Midterms is finally done so hopefully, I can update more often.
Warning: I may have unintentionally wrote a little angst (if you squint hard enough) regarding in colorism. I'm sorry in advance if I ever trigger or offend someone in one way or another.

Namjoon might be looking at his phone too much.
Namjoon just gave his number to Jungkook a few hours earlier. He was waiting for Jungkook's message the whole night although there was no reassurance that Jungkook would text him. But he was still afraid that he might miss a potential conversation with him in text.
Namjoon was watching a tv show with his mom in their living room while eating his mom's homemade caramelized popcorn. They were sitting on the couch, sharing one cozy blanket with each other. Namjoon was mindful of his phone that's sitting on his side. Namjoon would always check his notifications even though his phone didn't ring.
His eyes were directed to the tv but his focus was on his phone, occassionally checking his phone through his peripheral vision.
*ding!*
Namjoon's head flicked to the side and immediately picked up his phone. His reflex was so fast that he startled his mom.
"Chill Namjoon! You almost dropped the bowl!" His mom scolded him. But Namjoon wasn't listening as he was too excited for the message. He eagerly opened the message.
Unknown Number 9:18 pm
Hi
Namjoon squealed and bounced on the couch in giddyness. The message wasn't that much but it was more than enough for Namjoon to be flustered.
The Jeon Jungkook texted him first!
"Is that your crush?" His mom tried to pry but Namjoon quickly kept the phone away from his nosy mother.
"He's not!" Namjoon blushed and scooted away from his mom so that he could reply without his mom reading his response.
"Oooh...so this person's a he?" Namjoon's mom wiggled her eyebrows and smiled knowingly.
"Mom stop it!" Namjoon whined.
"Okay okay! But I just wanted to let you know that I support and trust you Namjoon. You're my son and I want you to understand that I acc--"
"Mom!" Namjoon cried. He cringed at his mom's little speech.
His mom laughed boisterously, "Aigooo! Namjoon's such a big boy now," His mom pinched both of his cheeks, sporting a wide grin on her face while Namjoon accepted the painful reality that he couldn't stop his mom from being a typical mother.
Meanwhile, in the Jeon's residence...
Jungkook lied face down on his king-sized bed. He was burying his face on his pillow with his eyes squeezed shut, kicking his legs on the mattress, and groaning at his first text to Namjoon. He texted Namjoon 4 minutes ago and the guy still hasn't texted back. It was making Jungkook anxious. He knew he should've put a period and a smiley face!
Jungkook stared at his phone and proceeded to type something. He contemplated for a moment before reluctantly hitting send.
