After what felt like 2 years of waiting, Jiyong finally finished scanning the items. Namjoon swiftly paid for the candies and grabbed the paper bag hastily. He rushed to the door and exited the shop. Once he's outside, he looked around for them.
Luckily, he saw his mom and the stranger walking slowly near the entrance of the mall, complementing each other's steps. The woman with the man wasn't like his mom at all. It's like Namjoon's seeing a completely different person.
That's not his mom. He had never seen his mom smile like that before. He had never seen her laugh so youthfully. Not that he's saying she wasn't being genuine with him. She just looks...different. More carefree.
He followed after them until the parking lot. Namjoon hunched over and hid in between one of the cars. He saw the man open the door of his car for his mom, they smiled at each other before Mrs. Kim went inside the car. The man walked over the driver's side, then they drove off.
Namjoon straightened his posture when the car went off. He tightened his grip on the paper bag he's holding. He suddenly got the the notion that things would go haywire after this.
Namjoon walked to the bus stop, thoughts all over the place.
His mom's seeing a man he had never seen before. His mom's dating someone, that's why she hardly had time for him anymore. His mom's world wasn't revolving around him anymore. He should be happy, right? His mom's finally going to be happy and complete.
Someone could finally love her, a love he couldn't give to his mother, the kind of love she deserved. And Namjoon's going to have a father figure. Then they would live happy ever after...right?
No matter how Namjoon tried to think of the positive side of things, jealousy would start to prod on his thoughts.
His mom's not going to look after him 24/7 anymore. She hardly had time for him right now, what more if she had introduced the man to him? But why hadn't his mom already introduced the man to him?
Maybe his mom knew. Maybe his mom thought he's not going to take it in a good way, and she's right.
He's spaced out in the bus, staring blankly outside the window. Various feelings inside him getting bunched up, nauseating him. He's silent. He's in a blank state of mind. He almost missed his stop. He wished he did. He didn't want to see his mom's face at the moment.
Although it sounded ridiculous, he felt like his mom's cheating on him in a way.
Namjoon had to walk a little before he'd reached their house. His feet dragging, to supposedly lengthen the time, so he could see his mom's face just little bit more later.
Their baby blue house even looked bluer than it normally was.
The lights were on inside their house. His mom was home. Namjoon gulped and went inside the house.
"Joonie! Where were you? I bought take-outs. Eat now before your food gets cold," said Mrs. Kim who's seating on the living room couch, watching their favorite drama.
Namjoon grimaced. It's probably from the man's money. Namjoon instantly lost his appetite.
"I went out to buy my gift. Don't worry, I already ate. I'm gonna go sleep. Good night mom," he said and took a step on the stairs.
"Hey, Namjoon-ah!" Mrs. Kim called.
The purple haired turned his head.
"Where's my kisses?" She pointed her index finger to her cheek.
