8: The dinner (Part 1)

Betty's POV

Jug chuckles, "Let me guess your words. 'We're in some deep shit now'," he says.

I chuckle and pull my feet onto the chair and cross my legs on it, starting to play with my bracelet until one of them says something. And I don't have to wait too long...

"So that's where you know so much about me," FP says.

I look up. He's smirking. I smile a little, "Yeah, we.. Pretty much the first conversation we had was about how shitty our families are," I say.

He laughs and mom smirks now a little, "You both do know that this thing between you two. It's dangerous. In this town," she says.

I sigh, "Yeah," I say.

"We weren't going to tell anyone about this. At least not until we go to Riverdale High together," Jug says.

"So you were just going to.. Keep this a secret?" mom asks.

I sigh, "You have no idea how much I cried last night, 'cause I had to come home from the camp," I say.

"Wait, the camp? You guys went to the same camp?" FP asks.

"Yeah," Chic says, "And your son stole my third place in surfing," he says, making us chuckle.

"You surf?" Jelly asks him.

"All of us do," I say. She looks at me, "Cool," she smiles.

I chuckle quietly and look back at mom. "Also I wasn't going to tell you, cause I knew you would've killed Jug for being a Serpent and for dating me," I say.

FP laughs, "Wow," he says.

"Yeah, that is true. You should've seen how these two cried last night," Jordan says.

I roll my eyes and start eating. I'm left handed so it's great to eat while our hands are together.

"And now.. You're doing what?" FP asks us.

"Well if you two won't kill us for it, we're not gonna run away from home," I smile.

"What a relief," mom smirks. I chuckle.

"We're.. If you two are okay with it. We're gonna keep doing this. And you have to promise not to get married, then it should be legal," Jug says, making me smile.

The two of them chuckle, "Sure," they say in unsion.

I sigh in relief, "So you're not mad?" I ask.

"As long as you're happy and don't get hurt, no," mom says.

I smile and rest my head on Jug's shoulder.

"Do you think... Cheryl's parents would be mad? If they knew that she is dating a Serpent?" I ask mom.

"Hell yes. Do not let her tell them. Who is she dating though?"

"Toni Topaz," I say.

"Toni's dating someone? Who's Cheryl?" Jelly asks.

"My cousin," I say.

"OUR cousin, sis," Jordan says and ruffles my hair before going out of the room.

"You still owe me 100 bucks!" I yell.

"For what?" he laughs, coming back with a glass of some smoothie.

"Let me taste," I say.

"Small," he warns me and gives me the glass. I taste it and smile.

"We have more?" I ask.
