I'm just making times pass by. They're happy, they have fights, they make up. They're more in love than before. Just a normal teenager's life.
November 18th
Betty's POV
"Everyone on the field!"
I look at Jug. He kisses my forehead, "Go on, you're gonna kill it."
I smile and peck his lips. I run to my team and they give me the shirt number 18 as always. I'm in the school's team, though it's me, another girl and the others are boys. We're playing against some other school from some place I'm not sure how you pronounce.
We all get onto the field and make a circle as always. We lean in and the capten (the goalkeeper) talks to us about today's strategy, also the coach.
"Limmet, Haler, Gilly, Donal, you're on the bench." They all nod and we get on the field.
I look for Jug. Then I see him, next to our friends and well, my sister, his sister and dad. It's a thing most schools only do for football, but ours does for basket and baseball and soccer etc. So the bleachers are full.
"Cooper, you're left inside forward. Changing with Popper. Popper, you're centre attack."
We both nod. It's how we usually play in practices.
30 minutes later
The whistle. "First half-time played. The score is 1-1. Fifteen minute break. On field back in 20."
I low five Henry and jog to my water bottle. I drink all of it remaining while walking towards the bathroom. When I get there, I do my business and then fill the bottle again. I drink it slowly, walking to the bleachers.
I climb up to my family/friends. "Hey," I say and sit back on Jug's lap.
He wipes away the sweat from my forehead and then kisses it. I smile and rest my head against his.
"You were great out there," Toni says.
I smirk, "I'm okay."
I think every single one of them rolls their eyes.
"Hungry?" Jug asks, pointing on the popcorn on Jelly's lap.
"Very. But I can't eat, I'll puke it all out on the field."
"Nervous?" dad asks. I nod.
"Why?" Cher asks.
"We need to win. Here's a man who gives out scholarships-"
"You already got one," Sweets says.
I nod, "I do. The others don't. We need to score and then hold the ball."
"Wow," dad smirks. I keep drinking my water as we talk.
40 minutes later
"5 minutes remaining. It's a tie, 2-2."
I sigh, panting at the same time. The ball is on our side, in front of the goal. Okay he got it and now it's flying in the air towards me. I hear cheering. And my name.
I keep my eyes on the ball, though I know whose voice it was. Breathe, breathe. The fact that your brothers are here earlier than they had to be and the fact that you haven't seen one of them since July and the other one since January, isn't enough of a reason for you to just run there into their arms.
