Trouble at vidcon

Getting to vidcon seemed impossible the week leading up to it. Phil was on edge only eating packaged food which is fine except that's not exactly an option in the middle of a convention. They were relying on Phil being comfortable enough with Dan to be fine eating as long as Dan was there.

Phil's anxiety was through the roof causing him to be jumpier than usual. Dan got a good scratch on his cheek from Phil's claws and Phil was sent spilling out apologies. It wasn't looking like they were going to even be able to make it to the convention. Somehow though Phil convinced Dan that he would be fine.

Check in at vidcon went smoothly for the most part except for a little hiccup with Phil not having his heat yet. Which is the main reason for the neko side of check ins. Thankfully John new a little bit about Phil and the situation so he was given the pass.

Phil did make videos but he didn't do anything like Dan did. Dan has a huge audience compared to Phil although any fans of Phil are also fans of Dan. Because he has more viewers Dan was asked to join a panel with some other YouTubers.

Phil watched from the side of the stage hidden from audience view. He didn't really want to be on his own but knowing he could see Dan and vice versa was good enough and was a good little push for getting Phil to try new things. A little motto the two used for Phil to feel comfortable doing something different and having personal growth.

Everything would have been completely fine. Except a security guard came up behind Phil putting a hand on his shoulder spooking the neko. Before he could stop himself he scratched the security on the arm and quite good too. "I'm so-"

In an instant Phil was on the ground, hat ripped off, and the security guard over him radioing for backup as Phil tried to get out of his grip. "Hold still you freak." The man barked at him which got him to stop moving for a little.

Then Phil saw a cage another security guard was bringing. "No no please. Need Dan. Dan. DAN. NO PLEASE." Phil was hysterical by time they wheeled over the cage. Over the microphones and cheering crowd he was unheard.

The security started trying to pick him up and put him in the cage and Phil knew he didn't have long and he needed to get Dan. Now all nekos have a call they can make if they feel like they are in an emergency. It's extremely loud and Phil's only done it once around Dan in the beginning. Phil typically avoids making typical neko sounds but this is when genetics take over. He releases a blood curdling howl over and over.

The second Dan hears Phil his heart drops to the floor. He can see other nekos in the audience also getting worried before he is looking off stage. He can't see Phil in the wings where he was earlier. "Mute my mic." He says before running off stage taking the headset off himself.

"Hey hey what's wrong?" Dan asks eyes scanning for Phil within the heap of security. Dan does his best to push his way forward before ultimately being stopped.

"Please back away sir." One of the security guards says standing up in front of him. That's when Dan sees Phil locked in a cage. They are holding onto his hand and doing something and it's making Phil fall further into his panic.

"No that's my Phil get him out. Stop touching him." He says darting past the security and over to Phil who is kneeling in the cage spewing out apology after apology. "Phil phil I'm here Dan's here it's gonna be ok."

"Sir get away from the neko." Security tells him putting a hand on Dan's shoulder.

"No! He's mine. Unlock the cage now." He says firmly getting his phone out to call John or Hank. "I will call the event organizers."

"So can we buddy now back away." The man says again starting to pull Dan back.

Dan has lost his mind by time he is calling Hank and it takes him 3 times just to tell him what has happened and where he is. Thankfully Hank was near by their area in the convention and comes speeding over in a golf cart.
