Rescue

Harumi's POV

"Mmph-" I grunted as I was thrown against the cold brick wall by one of the Oni. As it began tying my arms together with rope, I looked over my shoulder to see Cole, the Earth Ninja, tied up too. I squirmed around, trying to loosen the ropes. Eventually I gave up, and the Oni removed the fabric from around my mouth as another Oni entered the dark room.

"So you are the Quiet One?" It says in a deep voice.

"I was," I replied coldly.

"You know where Garmadon is, don't you?" A second added.

"Why would you need to know?" I responded, annoyed and angry.

"Tell me," the oni insisted. "Where is Garmadon?!" I stayed silent.

"She will not answer," The second Oni told the other one. The first Oni left the room angrily, with the second one following it soon after.

"Why do they want Garmadon?" I whispered to Cole once the Oni had left.

"I don't know. I overheard something about defeating him," Cole replied. "All I know is it won't be good."

Lloyd's POV

"So you're telling me now they have Cole and Harumi!?" Jay screamed at me. Everyone was shocked when I told them the news.

"And here I thought we actually won," Kai crosses his arms.

"We are going to get them back," I told them sternly.

"How would we do that? We barely got away last time," Nya asked. I thought for a second before answering.

"They most likely went back to that building. We need to figure out a way to get inside though," I replied.

"It will be more difficult because we must rescue two people," Zane told us.

"Yeah. We'll have to be stealthy," I replied, still trying to think of a good plan. "Wait! I've got it." I pulled out a blank sheet of paper and a pencil and began sketching out our plan.

After discussing the plan, the five ninja were on their way to the Oni hideout. Once the team was only a few blocks away, Lloyd waved his hands, signaling the rest of the ninja to sneak across the rooftops instead of the streets from now on. From around the corner of a small building, Kai and Jay nodded before front-flipping up a series of ladders and windows, then finally climbing onto the roof. Lloyd scanned the area around him before jumping up and grabbing onto the railing of a fire escape and climbing to the top. From where he was on the roof of the building, Lloyd could see Kai and Jay running across a flat rooftop while Zane and Nya were jumping from roof to roof further away. Lloyd immediately took off running, and occasionally jumping to the next roof, until he caught up with the others, who were gathered on one rooftop.

"That's their hideout," Nya whispered, pointing to the familiar dark, smoky building.

"Wait, look at him," Jay spoke up as the ninja looked where he was pointing and saw a regular looking citizen circling the building.

"He must be an Oni who shape-shifted into a citizen," Lloyd guessed. The ninja nodded in agreement as they watched the 'citizen' enter the building through a well-hidden door.

"Okay, remember the plan. Kai and Nya will stay back here, Jay, Zane, and I will sneak inside. If we're not back in twenty minutes, call Skylor and Pixal," Lloyd instructed, pulling his hood over his blonde hair. Kai and Nya nodded while Zane and Jay followed Lloyd to the secret entrance, carefully avoiding any Oni. Jay quietly opened the metal door, letting Lloyd and Zane in before he followed them, closing the door carefully behind him. Once inside, the three ninja found themselves in a long hallway lined with at least a dozen doors on each side. Lloyd shivered at the thought of what could be behind those doors.

"Split up and search each door," Lloyd ordered. Immediately, the three ninja ran to a different door and put their ear against it before carefully opening it. They searched the numerous rooms, hoping Harumi and Cole were inside one of them.

"Guys, over here!" Jay half-whispered, half-shouted. Lloyd and zane hurried to the door Jay was standing at. Upon entering the room, the ninja found both Cole and Harumi tied up next to each other.

"Rumi!" Lloyd yelled quietly, running to her and hugging her tightly through the ropes.

"Let's get you out of here," Lloyd said, beginning to untie Harumi once Jay and Zane had finished untying Cole.

"Did you really think you would get away with this?" A deep voice suddenly spoke behind the ninja and Harumi. All four of them turned around sharply to find what seems like the Oni's leader surrounded my many Oni 'soldiers' in the doorway. Jay, Cole, and Zane immediately moved into a ready stance, pulling their weapons out as a few Oni rushed into the room, attacking the ninja. Meanwhile, Lloyd turned back to Harumi, frantically tugging at the stubborn ropes, trying to set her free before an Oni attacked him. Unfortunately, he could not untie the ropes in time. Two Oni ran to him, each holding one of his arms down and pushing him onto the cold, stone ground.

Lloyd's POV

"Get- Get off me!" I shouted, eventually pulling my right arm free from the Oni's strong grasp and immediately taking my sword out.

"Lloyd!-" Harumi shouted before I could strike the Oni and free myself. I looked over my shoulder just as an Oni was trying to pick her up her and escape. Harumi! All I have to do is reach out and cut her ropes with my sword. She will be free.

Just then, one of the Oni on top of me pulled out a small knife and raised it above his head. I'm running out of time... The Oni cut my arm with the knife as another one grabbed my shirt, throwing me down harshly onto the ground. I could feel blood flowing from my fresh wound. I closed my eyes and leaned forward, cutting the ropes around Harumi moments before losing consciousness.

3rd POV

"LLOYD!" Harumi screamed. She kicked the Oni who was attempting to escape with her and ran towards Lloyd's unconscious body with tears staining her face. On the other side of the room, Jay had already untied Cole and joined the rest of the ninja near the exit.

"Harumi, we have to go," Kai said sternly, pulling her shoulder. Harumi pushed past the Oni surrounding Lloyd, but was pulled away by the Red and Blue Ninja.

"NO- LLOYD!!" Harumi screamed, tears still running down her cheeks.

"Harumi. We. Have. To. Go," Kai repeated as an Oni picked up Lloyd by his shirt, then, with no mercy, throwing him harshly onto the stone wall.

"LLOYD-" Harumi screamed, louder this time. She was cut off by Nya's hand covering her mouth. Before the Oni had a chance to attack them, the ninja managed to drag Harumi out from the building, still letting out muffled screams through Nya's hand.
